DK Cargo Overhaul (DX11)

Description
This mod adds 3 new sizes of cargo containers and also modifies the capacity and build requirements of existing containers.I know that there are a couple mods like this already on the workshop but none of them really did what I wanted so I made my own.

For those who hadn't noticed, the cargo volumes are very inconsistent in the default game. For example, the small ship large container has almost twice the cargo volume as the large ship small container even though they occupy the same amount of physical space. Another example is the large ship large container. Even though it takes up 27 times the physical space of the large ship small container, it only has 8 times the cargo volume. For these reasons I have decided to rebalance the whole cargo system.

I decided to use the small ship large container as the "standard" and balance the rest according to it. The large ship small container can now carry almost as much as the small ship large container since they are the same physical size. The rest of the large ship container volumes are linearly dependent on their size relative to the large ship small container (e.g. the large ship medium cargo container takes up 9 times as much space so it has 9 times the cargo volume). I have also modified the building requirements to account for the larger volumes but this is not linear. The larger the volume the less components you will need relative to the size. So it becomes more cost effective to build larger containers but it also requires a larger investment of materials and physical space.

The 3 new cargo containers are:
- Extra Large for Large Ships (3x3x6)
- Extra Large for Small Ships (5x5x10)
- Medium for Large Ships (3x3x1)

Here are all the cargo capacities in this mod:
Small Ships:
- Small 250L (up from 125L)
- Medium 8,000L (unchanged)
- Large 27,000L (unchanged)
- Extra Large 54,000L
Large Ships:
- Small 25,000L (up from 15,625L)
- Medium 225,000L
- Large 675,000L (up from 125,000L)
- Extra Large 1,350,000L

EDIT: For all the people saying this mod isn't realistic: I already know that. It isn't meant to be a realistic mod it is meant to make the containers more consistent with each other. The reason I didn't reduce the small ship medium/large containers is so that this mod would be compatible with respawn ship mods that use those containers. Here is a link to an alternate version of this mod that only adds my new containers and gives them a more "realistic" cargo capacity.

WARNING: If you have any partially constructed large ship large/small containers they may cause problems when you add this mod. Since I changed the build requirements for these items they may appear at a different "stage" when you load the world. Most noticeably if you only added enough components in a large ship large container to make it functional (red line) then when you add this mod it will be below the red line and you may lose any items placed inside. To avoid this issue make sure that any containers with things inside them are fully built.

@Fus, known issue, unfortunately it's nothing to do with the mod, well, not exactly, most items are too big to pass through the small opening on cargo containers.

Put two extra large containers end to end and you can't drag anything from one to the other (large connection ).
Tested on small ship only

These still work, Textures need an update, as do build costs. I wonder if it would be possible to swap the texture of the Large Cargo onto this...

Please if you can attempt to update this mod as it was one good cargo enhancement mod.

I like the idea of them flat cargo containers but I'd love if they had a version that wasn't so wide.

Are you ever planning on updating this amazing cargo mod?

im not sure if the devs implemented this same change since this mod was released or not, but i had heard something similar about their volumes and did some quick mathing and they are all linearly increasing now. the small ship large container holds the same as the large ship small container, and the small ship smalls volume multiplied by how many of them would fit into each container going up matches up all the way to the large ship large container. what i do like about this mod is the different shapes of cargo containers, the pankake and the stick. similar to the compact small ship battery mod, allows for more flexible building. because why does a container or battery have to be a perfect cube right.

You'd figure the devs would have forseen the need for this particular adaptation of standard containers,but... thank you for taking up their slack will enjou S.E. much more
