Strength: 3
Wright isn't exactly WWT material, but he can handle himself well enough up close.
(Not that you should be starting many fights with this build...)

Perception: 6
He can spot contradictions a mile away. Only really practical for getting a certain perk later on, but I thought it fit Phoenix's character.

Endurance: 8
If you've played the Ace Attorney games, you know why this is as high as it is. He's survived more than enough life threatening situations that any normal lawyer reasonably shouldn't. Very useful for leveling Unarmed and just generally tanking alot more damage than usual, which will be especially needed given our..choices in armor. But that's for its own section.

Charisma: 10
Also a stat number that shouldn't be very surprising, as a lawyer is usually expected to be very charismatic to be successful. If his case win/loss ratio is any indication, Phoenix has one steel-er silver tongue. Arguably the most important stat, as it'll boost our Speech and Barter, which will be our two most essential skills for this build.

Intelligence: 6
Phoenix is a fairly intelligent man. He DID go to law school, albeit on the side while originally majoring in art.
(Yes, really...)
This'll be useful for gaining slightly more early game XP, but not much else.

Agility: 1
Hey, he's a lawyer, not a track star. The only running he'll be doing is if somebody starts whipping or throwing coffee at him. Though there'll be moments you'll need to sneak by danger, you can usually make up for it by using Stealth Boys or magazines, the latter especially considering a certain...no, not again!

Luck: 6
Although a case can be made for Phoenix to have either incredible or downright rotten luck, I chose to keep it fairly average. Though I wouldn't exactly recommend breaking the bank at the casinos, it's not impossible and actually a decent method of earning a few caps for certain implants down the road.
Tag Skills
  • Speech - Self-explanatory. New Vegas is a game ripe with speech options, and our spiky-haired wordsmith is more than happy to use that to his advantage.
  • Barter - Turns out, there are a lot of situations in post-apocalyptic Japanifornia that can be resolved for the right price. Speaking of, this skill will aid greatly in haggling for better gear and healing items.
  • Unarmed - Sometimes, you just need to point the finger of justice in the right direction. This'll be your primary combat skill, as Phoenix is no Old West gunslinger. Make sure to study up on the latest techniques.
Traits
  • Good Natured
  • Skilled
  • Wild Wasteland (optional)
Equipment
Clothing
  • Grimy pre-war businesswear (I'd recommend installing a mod that fixes the texture issue)
  • Ambassador Crocker's suit (Reverse pickpocket if siding with the NCR)
  • President Kimball's suit (ditto, or just let him die during the quest You'll Know When It Happens)
  • Sunset sarsaparilla deputy badge (Wearable badge mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/41865)
A suit has a chance to spawn inside Doc Mitchell's house.

Weapons
  • Fists
  • Boxing tape
  • Brass/spiked knuckles
  • Love and Hate (requires going through a tough early game area, would recommend going at a higher level)
  • Scientist glove and Dr. Mobius' glove (both require going through Old World Blues)

Misc.
  • Luck implant
  • "PHOENIX" Monocyte Breeder - Optional health regen implant.
  • Both of the above can be bought from the New Vegas Medical Clinic for 4000 and 12000 caps respectively.
  • Wine Grape juice
Perks
  • LVL 2 - Swift Learner
  • LVL 4 - Educated
  • LVL 6 - Toughness - This'll be a literal lifesaver as enemies get tougher and your armor...doesn't.
  • LVL 8 - Comprehension - Always remember to check the court record. Underrated utility perk, can help cinch certain high level skill checks as well as help with sneaking around crime scenes.
  • LVL 10 - Miss Fortune - Ha, you thought this would be Finesse, right? Well, normally yes, but something about this perk really...awoke a spirit within me. I don't know. Moving on...
  • LVL 12 - Toughness II
  • LVL 14 - Piercing Strike - OBJECTION!
  • LVL 16 - Better Criticals
  • LVL 18 - Ferocious Loyalty - If you plan on playing without companions, I'd recommend just taking Finesse this level.
  • LVL 20 - Finesse/Life Giver
Companions
  • Veronica - Maya Fey. They both wear robes, live isolated far from the rest of society, and love dangerous women love burgers.

  • Arcade Gannon - Miles Edgeworth. They're both logical, reserved and calculated men with a troubled past they'd rather forget. Also glasses.
Factions
  • NCR (Rule of law)
  • House (Mr. House's defense attorney)
Playstyle
  • Use Speech and Barter frequently - Try to avoid combat directly whenever possible. Try to find the peaceful option to any situation first, and beyond that, the one that also benefits the most parties involved.

  • Unarmed weapons only - No guns! As the saying goes, the pen is mightier than the sword. Except instead of a pen and a sword, it's a...finger and a gunnnn looks its 5 am on a Thursday what do you want from me
Quests
  • For the Republic
  • The House Always Wins
  • Heartache by the Number
  • I Could Make You Care
  • G.I. Blues
  • My Kind of Town
  • Boulder City Showdown
  • The White Wash
  • Silus Treatment
  • How Little We Know
Conclusion

The defense is ready, Your Honor.

I hope you enjoyed reading this guide and found it helpful. I love Fallout and Ace Attorney, and thought this would be a great way of mixing the two in an interesting way. This was also my first time writing a Steam guide, so I'd appreciate any constructive feedback in the comments. Happy Valentines' day, and if you haven't played the Ace Attorney games, the entire trilogy is available on here. It usually goes on sale often, so if you haven't played these games yet, it's linked below. Bye!
