Stargate2Skipgate is an update and a continuation of MrKociak excellent retextures Stargate Retexture / Retheme for Stargates!



A "taste of vanilla" patch for Stargates!

This specific version fullfil the goal to implement the Stargates! mod in the vanilla lore, by replacing

every

single

MENTION

of the stargates with the skipgates.

And rewriting the mod's lore in accordance.

What's the difference between this and Stargate Retexture / Retheme [Continued]?

Stargate Retexture / Retheme [Continued] is mostly a retexture project.

Stargates to Skipgates integrates theses new textures and rename every assets from Stargates! to give you that "vanilla expanded" flavor.

If you just want Stargates! with vanilla style textures, uses Stargate Retexture / Retheme [Continued]

If you want Stargates! with vanilla expanded style lore integration and vanilla style textures, use Stargates to Skipgates


State of the mod

As of now, every description, location, and item has been updated, but some core elements necessary for the mod to work had to keep the Stargate name : the research tab is named Stargate and the coordinates of each skipgates is called "stargate address".

Altering theses would made keeping this "taste of vanilla" pack up to date a lot harder!

You could also do some things with this for some anomaly shenanigans, like maybe an event with a malfunctioning/hacked skipgate controlled by a dark archotech that continually spawns hostile entities until you end up dealing with it.

You should make an archotech skipgate that ends the game like launching the ship.

Yo, just letting ya know I have 0 problems with continuations and stuff like this. If you wanna, you can even add that I gave permission in the description.
I'm honestly quite happy that people are continuing my older mods, it makes me feel slightly less bad about working on my current projects instead of those :smugcatsack:

I don't mind some parts being called Stargate still since stuff like that exists in the real world. British people still call it petroleum even though it's gasoline!
