Bone Scavenger[42.10]

Extract valuable bones from zombie corpses using knives and other sharp tools. This mod adds a new context menu option that allows you to harvest various types of bones from dead zombies, including small animal bones, large animal bones, skull bones, and rib cages.
Features:

Right-click on zombie corpses to harvest bones
Requires knives or sharp tools (kitchen knife, hunting knife, etc.)
Bone yield depends on your Butchering skill level
Tools take damage during the harvesting process
Corpses are automatically removed after harvesting
Compatible with Build 42

How to Use:

Kill zombies and ensure you have a knife in your inventory
Right-click on a zombie corpse
Select "Harvest Bones" from the context menu
Watch as your character extracts bones and the corpse disappears

Any knife can easily be added yourself.
Go to \SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\3399292171\mods\BoneScavenger\common\media\lua\client and open clientCement.lua.
Add the knife you want to the section in valid knives.
Profit.

Doesn't seem to have enough knives you can harvest with. I've made a list of valid knives that I found by browsing the mod's files:
Blunt Bone Knife
Butterfly Knife
Simple Metal Knife
Fighting Knife
Fillet Knife
Hunting Knife
Forged Hunting Knife
Hunting Knife Blade
Kitchen Knife
Forged Kitchen Knife
Stone Knife

The biggest missing options I think are all the machetes, long knives (scrap metal knife my beloved), as well as meat cleavers, they're designed for butchering after all. Other options you could add are the small knife, sushi knife, steak knife, scalpel, and switchblade but I can understand not adding those due to how small they are.

seconded, this mod is so useful in many aspects, not just for corpse disposal but because how hard it is to get bones in vanilla :bleach:

Don't apologize. Between not having to "waste" time, ground, or fuel to dispose of corpses, leveling the butchering skill without having to risk losing food practicing on critters, and gaining the bones necessary for weapons, armor, and practicing the carving and tailoring skills this is without a doubt one of the most useful mods I've ever come across. Quite possibly *the* most useful. You seem intent on keeping it active and up to date. I am more than happy to wait a couple days for encroaching issues to get resolved.

Sorry. Fixed

Same issue. Tried with a kitchen knife and fillet knife.

And I'm running a new save

Same issue as tokenpdx described. I thought it was the Bandits mod that didn't let me butcher bandit corpses but apparently it's just the bug of this mod. Would be great to see it fixed, bc it's such a good mod.

I have a hunting knife in my hand, the option is there to "Harvest Bones" but when I click, nothing happens - and I get errors now when killing zombies.

I've added it to a old save for testing, Does this mod require a new save?
