I took over this mod to update it to 1.5, but the original dev never came back. So will be keeping this updated indefinitely.

Tired of pawns lounging about during the heat of the battle after their first kill? Or got an easy raid and don't want to micromanage everything? Toggle Search and Destroy to let the AI take control over your pawns while you sit back and enjoy the slaughter, and intervene at any time just in case they screw up.

Can be added to existing saves and should be compatible with any mod (let me know if it's not).

Features
- Activate Search and Destroy so drafted pawns look for and attack enemies automatically.
- Give manual orders while a pawn is in Search and Destroy mode at any time. You'll feel never like you're not in control!
- Depends on the vanilla AI (also used by NPCs), which is well tested and works for many situations. Of course it isn't perfect but it should help reducing micromanagement, especially during easy fights.
- Two separate buttons for melee and ranged pawns. Having two buttons allows you to select a group of pawn, and activate search and destroy only for for instance melee pawns (you'll see, this is very convenient).
- Search and destroy is deactivated when a pawn is undrafted to prevent unexpected situations when you draft a pawn at a later moment.

Is there, or will there ever be a way to "paint targets" as enemies, so that S&D, Pawns will target them even if they are not a threat, eg painting a visiting trading caravan as enemies so that pawns will attack and kill them. Alternatively, painting a group of nuetral or passive enemies so that pawns will attack and kill them even if they are not or do not become a threat.

Would like to add this mod is awesome and i use it in everyplaythough, melee combat would be a headache without it.:steamhappy:

@mystic @YuYingYa ~ Looks like the issue with pawns running up with melee weapons is a feature of Simple Sidearms. If that mod decides using a melee weapon is better, it'll switch to it, and then S&D will continue as normal.

If you'd like to change that behavior, Simple Sidearms has a lot of settings for when to switch. Or you can just turn off the "Tool use autoswitch" setting in the Triggers tab ^.^

@gabi.up.2 ~ A mod list exported with RimSort via rentry, and a save file where the issue is just about to happen would be extremely helpful

For some reason when I order my pawns to search and destroy with melee when I have the live mechanoid enemies on the map. Does not crash if there are only enemy pawns, animals and/or insects on the map. :/ Can you help me with this? How can I debug it myself? Can you teach me? Can someone else teach me? d(O_o)b

@mystic ~ Never been able to replicate this issue though, and I use both mods in all my saves O.o Although I'd added it to my list to double check the melee sidearm

Found this mod and it seems very handy!
On the below comment, it might be a conflict with Simple Sidearms? I'm running that mod, and I'll try this one as well and see if the error occurs.

(If the ranged pawns have a melee weapon as their sidearm, that mod will auto-switch from their ranged weapon to their held melee weapon when in melee combat. This behaviour might be causing problems? )

@Fysh ~ If you use Dubs Performance, it can tell you what's causing it. It's almost certainly a conflict between mods (possibly CE), so would need more info on what's happening ^.^

@YuYingYa ~ Yeah, I've heard of that issue before, it's some mod conflict, but I haven't been able to narrow it down. If you could send me a mod list exported with RimSort via rentry, and possibly a save just before it happens, that'd be extremely helpful

It's a great mod, but maybe it's because I've subscribed to too many mods that there's a conflict. When you click "Search and Destroy (Ranged)", they rush straight up to you and start close combat. Even though they are armed with ranged weapons, I have already collected the mod and will continue to use it in the future

Anyone else's tps getting obliterated when toggling search and destroy?
