S.O.G. Prairie Fire: We Few

Description
December, 1968. RT Columbia is on their last day of Bright Light duty at the Khe Sanh Mission Support Site when a Prairie Fire Emergency is declared over the radio...

Features:

- Play as a MACV SOG One-Zero in this singleplayer scenario and lead RT Columbia on a dangerous mission across the fence in Laos to rescue fellow recon men in trouble, inspired by the real-world unit and their missions during the Vietnam War.

- Uses the amazing S.O.G. Prairie Fire CDLC and its groundbreaking modules, allowing for dynamically spawned patrols, trackers and reinforcements for hours of replayability.

- Need close air support or a helicopter extraction from a hot LZ? Use the S.O.G. Prairie Fire Radio Support system and the ARMA III Helicopter Transport Support system to get the support you need!

- Optional AI Revive script by pierremgi available.

- Features a modified Casualty Rescue Script created by Nomadd.

- Uses gear from Recon Team Blackfoot (RTBF), which adds more quality equipment to your Recon Team.

- Use earplugs while on board the helicopters to protect your hearing and enjoy some great music, both courtesy of the S.O.G. Prairie Fire CDLC!

- Explore the Khe Sanh Mission Support Site (MSS), one of SOG's many forward launch sites utilized by Command and Control North (CCN), in a detailed base with editor placed objects and units. Talk to fellow recon men, dispensary medic, Special Forces A-Team comrades, modify your team loadouts, and more!

- Mission is made with the intent of using the amazing SOG AI mod by Johnnyboy. SOG AI is the way to play MACV SOG missions!

- Mission is named after the legendary first book written by MACV SOG CCN Recon Man Richard 'Nick' Brokhausen, a legend in the US Special Operations Community.

Notes:

- Do take the time to read the mission tips and notes, and also to read the tasks and hints as they appear throughout the mission. These will all tell you what you will need to do to ensure the mission runs the way it's supposed to run. I have included colored Action Menu options to ensure you click the correct option. This is extremely important for the smooth running of the mission.

- H34dup, for all his invaluable lessons in mission making. He's been giving me advice in mission editing since ARMA II, and has always allowed me to dissect his awesome missions to learn how he made them. He's pretty much an Eden Editor God at this point!

- Savage Game Design for the best CDLC to release for ARMA III, and the best Vietnam War game to ever come to PC.

- Bohemia Interactive Studios for the amazing MILSIM franchise we all love!

- Recon Team Blackfoot (RTBF) for their amazing RTBF Gear mod, which complements S.O.G. Prairie Fire very well.

- pierremgi for the amazing AI Revive script.

- Nomadd for his HVT script, which I modified slightly for the requirements of this mission.

- Murklor for his ARMA II AI Cache and Spawn script, updated for ARMA III.

- Recolor addon for the post processing effects, courtesy of H34dup.

@sensei.tokugawa I hope you enjoy the rest of my missions, too :steamhappy:

I did assume he should have been there, propped against a rock as in the task description photo but no luck finding him anywhere around so he must have kind of wandered or actually - crawled off . No wonder with that ammount of movement and harassment we were observing and receiving during our night in the field :-) BTW, the task section still says "locate the missing RT member" so I wonder we are to search further - which we did a lot as a matter of fact, carrying on in the northern direction - or there's something broken here, he's nowhere to be found so I guess we're just gonna di di mau outta there, wind up and wind down in the recon bar and then move on to the rest of your goddamn superb missions I have been having my eyes on since they appeared here but haven't had the guts to dive into yet.

@sensei.tokugawa thank you for trying out my mission. Funny thing is the mission was never meant to last till the next day, so I'm quite impressed you managed that. For the missing 1-2, you definitely reached his location as the radio and Browning hi-power is at his location. For the life of me I can't understand why he wouldn't be there because he was set to immobile. I never meant the mission to last more than a day, so that might have caused his disappearance, but I cannot be certain.

First & foremost, a great quality mission again which I have been having tons of fun with since yesterday. We didn't make it to the missing RT last known location before the nighfall so we had to set up a hasty RON position - truly the long range recon style. It felt great with each detail covered, from calling fastmovers to sterilize and cauterize the AO from hostile presence to mines and claymores going off in the dark. Anyway, I decided at some point to use the skip time command in the debug console and forwarded the whole business to the next morning. No problems here, everything was going smoothly, yet another happy day in the office. However, dunno if that might have wrecked the mission structure, because we couldn't exctract our guy ... erm ... physically, so to speak, as apprently he wasn't there - we found yet another pool of blood, an active radio, a Colt gun, the dialogue appeared prompting us to extract and the extraction LZ was assigned, but our guy isn't there.

Thank you @cnice73! Appreciate you trying out and enjoying the missions! Will see what I can do to improve the heli insertions and extractions for my future missions.

Just awesome! A little Arma jankiness getting everyone on the helicopter at the end but all the action before that more than made up for it. Well done sir!

@Gopan thank you for trying out my newest mission. I don't think I have the skills to make the mission you are asking for. Would probably fail miserably at it :steamhappy:

Perfect! Can you make long long long mission to play few days? Maybe same helicrush with specops team on board. Radio down and you need to go whole map by foot without any support, saving ammo, looting enemy weapons and tracker on your tail (but not too many).
