Glue Pad Welding [v2]

Description
___________________________________________
BASED ON DIGI'S ADVANCED WELDING MOD - Published with his authorisation. (This version only modifies the welding pad to work single-side, it does not include the detaching and precision modes features from Digi's mod)

WARNING: FIRST VERSION - Expect and report bugs!
___________________________________________

Drop & go
The glue pad allows you to build a station extension or ship part and drop it wherever you want, without requiring merge blocks or weld pads on the target grid.

  • Build your extensions in your printer / mobile factory and place them where you need them.
  • Prepare repeating parts to quickly build large structures (roads sections, building floor, ...)

Changelog
v2 - Fixed inaccurate weld position
v1 - Initial release

This mod works but each usage puts a text error on my screen: "Advanced Gluing ERROR: Offset X, Y, Z" etc.

This mod looks great for modular stations. It also lets you build ships in a similar fashion as Starfield.

The original mod requires player to place 2 welding blocks to join grids together.
Here you only need one welding ("glue") pad, which means when you build a grid, you can place it wherever without extra preparation.

The use case is illustrated in the screenshot : you have a mobile "printer" building something and placing it wherever, without getting out of the ship to build the 2nd weld pad at that place.

This can of stuff can be helpful for quickling placing equipement, extending structures & automated grid propduction processes.

For instance you could use that to have a drone place a series of blocks (like extending a wall or floor of a base) without player intervention.

Sorry, but I do not quite understand what exactly does this mod, because I do not see the difference compared to the old one.

I think its may work because your mod independend
Yatta - Albino  [author] May 6 @ 5:25am
Yes, this mod is independent from Advanced Welding and should work fine with it - I use both in my games.

I dont think I actually tested if the original two-parts welding blocks still works though, but they should.

Technically this can still be uploaded to mod.io but you would need a server with scripts on in order to get it to work.
