Here you only need one welding ("glue") pad, which means when you build a grid, you can place it wherever without extra preparation.
The use case is illustrated in the screenshot : you have a mobile "printer" building something and placing it wherever, without getting out of the ship to build the 2nd weld pad at that place.
This can of stuff can be helpful for quickling placing equipement, extending structures & automated grid propduction processes.
For instance you could use that to have a drone place a series of blocks (like extending a wall or floor of a base) without player intervention.
I dont think I actually tested if the original two-parts welding blocks still works though, but they should.
Definitely uses scrips
