I have verified basic functionality, but serious testing and balance suggestions by someone who knows and loves the mod is really needed.

Original mod notes (1.4):

I have always considered Rimworld a survival game, so every mod that adds some grade of difficulty catch my interest. Like many admirers of Hardcore SK, with the pass of time I learned to create my own modpack, following the same philosophy: The more problems you have, the more interesting it will be your story... For that purpose, in my opinion Expanded Woodworking is a must-have mod for any player who wants to overcome some challenge.

MOD
This is a revisited edition based on the forked mod made by Mercenary, upon Adventurer's version, which already was an upgrade of Qwynn's Expanded Woodworking [followed by Aquiles for 1.4, and thus to Zaljerem.]

New with Biotech! Polluted trees now produce rotten wood. Rotten wood cannot be converted into lumber, but can be restored into generic wood.

FEATURES

Trees, saguaro, and bamboo have their own unique wood.
Polluted Trees, like witchwood, produce also their own: rotten wood.
Every wood type (except saguaro and rotten wood) has a corresponding lumber.
Process logs into lumber at the woodworking table.
Restore rotten wood into generic to gain some raw materials in heavily polluted maps.
Lumber is used in both construction and in crafting.
Supports any starting scenario through using the crafting spot.
Raw logs are used as fuel!
Realistic wood colors!
Compatibility with any mod using wood as a fuel item.

COMPATIBILITY
[Zal: I don't guarantee any of this. :)]

Expanded Woodworking is fully compatible with everything else, because any unpatched tree will still provide generic wood and any unpatched floor will still be available.
However, it may conflict with other mods if both directly overwrite the WoodLog definition, like e. g. Not a Weapon mod or Medieval Overhaul.
To make it compatible with Medieval Overhaul, I recommend using this mod.

The new one completely broke my mod playlist somehow. Killed it so hard I had to uninstall everything and come back to this one.

Had to ask. :) I appreciate you keeping it in existence, that helps.

It's not going anywhere but I'm done working on it. If anyone wants to step up and take it over in any way, the license allows that with credit to the original author.

Please reconsider keeping this mod. The new version is really really buggy

Thanks for all the work. One of my favorite mods to expand production chain complexity and variety.

Consider this one end-of-life. Thanks everyone!

@Zaljerem Thanks for the support until now, it has been in all my runs since A16. :)

Pushed an update to fix cocoa generation.

Regarding new patches: be the change you want to see! I'll accept any donated patches or improvements, but I'm going to level with you all: I've kinda grown tired of this mod and its continual manual updates, and as I don't use it it's hard to work up energy to improve it. I believe TeH_Dav was working on a new version that automatically detects wood and generates everything needed, but I'm not sure where that stands.

TL;DR - this mod is probably heading towards end-of-support from me. The mod license is as such that anyone can take it over with appropriate credit. Hint hint.
