1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX & Eagle Talon TSi

Diamond-Star Motors (DSM) formed in the mid-1980s as a collaboration between Chrysler and Mitsubishi. The venture would only last a decade until Mitsubishi took full control of the manufacturing process and company in 1995. But that decade produced one of the best-known vehicles whose legend still reigns today: The Mitsubishi Eclipse. The Eagle Talon was arguably just as good as its Mitsubishi cousin and subjectively better looking. Plymouth also had the Laser, carrying on the Chrysler Laser's nameplate, but it was overshadowed without an all-wheel drive turbo model and languished with low sales figures. This first generation is known as the "1G."

The Talon and Eclipse would go on to become staples of 1990s tuner culture in America, as their affordable power and driving experience removed the barrier-to-entry so many sports cars had at the time. Ironically, the DSM 1Gs would often be labeled as JDM (short for "Japanese Domestic Market", but incorrectly used to denote USDM imports from Japan), but they were only ever built in Normal, Illinois, and largely sold only in North America--save for a few exports--making them as American as any muscle car.

This mod adds the 1991 Eagle Talon TSI and 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX to the game for you to find and drive. It's a light-weight sport compact car with a relatively powerful engine (especially the tuned version!) that will allow you to get out of trouble quickly at the expense of not being particularly strong. It seats four and has a moderately-sized trunk for hauling loot.

Features include:

• 18 Color Options: Unique colors for both the Talon and Eclipse, plus some eight customized "tuner" variations replicating early '90s import culture
  
• Animated: Opening doors, windows, hood, and trunk
  
• Armored: Using the crafting system, create improvised makeshift armor to add to the car to make it the ultimate apocalypse road machine (and add some fun personality!)
  
• Mechanic System: Removable/repairable parts with custom graphics
  
• Physics: Realistic handling and properties
  
• Distribution: Found all over, but mostly in lower and middle-class neighborhoods and parking lots
  
• Wreck Included: A burned wreck version can be found to add some new variety to major backups
  
• Localized: Includes translations for Chinese (Simplified), English, French, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, and Spanish

Pop-up headlights: Still working on this. Right now I've just got the faux-front lights acting as headlamps. Hang tight.

My goal is to release cars that fit into the vanilla game world and stylistically match the base-game's textures and art design. Additionally, I've also strive for my work to be ultra light-weight (to keep performance smooth) and to look great with other vehicle mods that share a similar ethos, such as Filibuster Rhymes' Used Cars, fhqwhgads' Motorious Zone, and improvement mods such as the Vanilla Vehicle Enhancer, among others.
