1982 Subaru Brat

The second-generation Subaru Brat was a popular ute in the United States during most of the 1980s. Known as the Subaru Brumby in parts of the world where utes remain more popular today, the Brat was actually developed at the request of Subaru America to compete with small trucks and light utility vehicles that were being sold at the time.

The Brat (an acronym, short for "Bi-drive Recreational All-terrain Transporter") is a four-wheel drive light off-roader with two seats in the cab and two jump-seats in the bed. These jump-seats are great for friends who want to do a little target shooting while you drive (or vice-versa)!

This mod adds the Subaru Brat to the game.

It comes in two styles, the standard Brat and a "sport" version with included bullbar, rollbar with top-mounted lights, and two inch lift. The bullbar gives the sport version some extra damage protection against the undead, keeping you four-wheeling over their corpses for longer.

Both versions come with seven different color/livery options replicating the original colors the vehicle was offered in.

This vehicle features opening front doors and windows and an interior that you can see when windows are smashed or removed. It also has an opening hood and tailgate located in the back.

Right now the players sitting in the jump seats face forward despite the script being setup to rotate the players to face backward. Unfortunately this seems to be a limitation of the game and rumor has it that Indie Stone will be updating vehicle coding soon. The jump seats still work fine, players just look a little goofy for the time being.

My goal is to release cars that fit naturally into the game world and stylistically match the base-game's textures and art design. Additionally, I've also strive for my work to be ultra light-weight (to keep performance smooth) and to look great with other vehicle mods that share a similar ethos, such as Filibuster Rhymes' Used Cars, fhqwhgads' Motorious Zone, and improvement mods such as the Vanilla Vehicle Enhancer, among others.
