Description
Introduction
Welcome! The wonderful youtuber BonBonB has started a collaboration city build, in which he and 80 other people join together to build one city. Each person is assigned one of the 81 available tiles on the map, where he can build a town (although with restrictions). Once everyone is done, BonBonB will use the mod Move It to copy everyone's part into one map, and upload it for all to see. Due to this, you only need to plop buildings, props, trees and roads, and not really build a working town: it's basically detailing. If you are interested in this project, please watch this video, where BonBonB explains everything and where you can join the project (if there are still spots left). Over here you can find also an explanation, although you shouldn't download that version of the savegame, since there is a newer one.

The map this project takes place on, is Midsomer by uncle ron, although BonBonB has made some adjustments. Hence that we don't start with this map, but with the savegame BonBonB provided, which can be found over here. He has also made a small collection with all the dependencies you need, which you can find over here.

I have been assigned tile G3.

If you go to the folder "Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/255710/3026156848" you not only see the savegame itself, but also a MoveIt export you can use to copy this town into another city. The entire tile has been copied.

Limits
In order to keep things manageable (and to give us a challenge) there are limits to what you can do in your tile. Here is an overview of what was present in the map before I started, the limit of what I could do in my tile and the total numbers in my final version:

Furthermore you are limited to five workshop items. I've chosen the following:

Dependencies
Please note that if you don't see the savegame after subscribing, you'll need to go to the 'Content Manager' from the main menu, go to the category 'Savegames' and enable the savegame.

In order to run this savegame, you'll need to have some assets and mods. Here is an overview:
  • The five above mentioned workshop assets.
  • The items in the Collab 81 Collection (except for the savegame at the end of the list)
  • Tree Control, since there are almost a million trees on the map.
Furthermore, it's also advised to subscribe to the themes and theme mixer you can find in the original Midsomer Collection to get the full experience (and to not have the game complain about the missing theme when loading the game):
  • Midsomer Collection. Don't subscribe to the Unlimited Trees mod in the collection, since it will conflict with Tree Control.
If you then want to do some building yourself, you are advised to use the following mods:
And lastly, if you want to adjust the start square to your assigned square (only if you are in the middle 25 tiles), you can use the following mod to achieve that from the savegame:

A little while ago I created several collections with all kinds of workshop assets in certain themes, like Dutch village or French city. If you want to know more, have a look at the Villages Collections: Overview:

Collection
There is a collection with all the savegames and required mods/assets. Just subscribe to everything in the collection, and you'll have everything you need to have a look at all the tiles. You can find it over here.

Now, if you want to change the image of your existing uploaded savegame, you can update your savegame by following this guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=424748932 (don't forget to add '--refreshWorkshop' to the startup options in steam though to make the 'Update' button appear). When you got your updated savegame, you can now click on the 'Update' button, which opens the 'Publish savegame on Steam workshop' screen again, with the tiny folder in the lower right corner of the preview image, which you can change.

@Stalker When you go to the content manager, to savegame, and click on 'share', you get the 'Publish savegame on steam workshop' screen, with a big image. In the lower right corner of that image is a very small 'folder' icon. If you click on that, the explorer opens to the folder that sits ready to be uploaded to the workshop. In it you see a folder named 'Content', which has the savegame which you are about to upload, and an image named 'PreviewImage.png'. You can replace this image with any image you like: this PreviewImage is used as the thumbnail image. If you change it to an image that is square-shaped (for example 360x360px, which is the size of my thumbnail), it will look stretched on the upload screen, but does look good on the workshop. Changing it does not affect the preview image in game though! For the preview image I just positioned the camera ingame to a nice spot and saved the game.
