Hmm... I hadn't planned to
But depending on how easy it would be, I suppose I could try to add a more advanced "boiling pond" of sorts: something that costs metal, components, and a power source, but produces salt much faster than the current 4-5 days...
Only problem is this was never my mod, and my skill level is nowhere near the original authors'
That said, they did include the full source code, so I might just give it a try sometime
