Breaking News: Ukrainian Forces Advance in Crimea - Decisive Battle Looms

After regaining control of Kherson, Ukrainian troops made a daring crossing of the Dnieper River on 05/01/2023, successfully landing on the Autonomous Republic of Crimea's (A.V.R.) shores. With surprisingly minimal losses, they have now encroached upon Sevastopol, setting the stage for a decisive battle in the region.

In a recent update from Andrii Chernyak, a spokesperson for Ukraine's Main Directorate of Intelligence, it has been revealed that Russia is hastily relocating fresh military units northward within the occupied Crimea. Furthermore, they are intensifying their construction of defensive structures, both in the Crimean territory and the seized parts of the Kherson region. The move is seen as an acknowledgment by the Russian Armed Forces that they are poised to engage in combat operations on these very fronts.

Chernyak emphasized that Russia's focus remains on securing a "land corridor" from Donbas to Crimea, but he also pointed out that Ukrainian forces, armed with new types of weaponry from foreign partners, pose a significant threat throughout the occupied territory. He stated firmly, "The so-called land corridor to Crimea is by no means secure. Ukraine will strike Russian positions across the entire occupied region."

Notably, on January 3, the GUR (Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate) reported that the Russian Federation had stationed carriers of nuclear weapons in Crimea. Chernyak further highlighted Russia's maintenance of various means of delivering nuclear munitions on the peninsula, including aircraft, ships, submarines, and land-based complexes.

In a recent statement, Kyrylo Budanov, head of the GUR, emphasized that the liberation of the occupied peninsula would be achieved through a combination of military force and diplomacy. He also expressed optimism about Ukraine's cooperation with Western partners in procuring weapons for future offensives.
