Character Creation
Naming and character's look

Start with naming your character. Names include Gustavo, Gus Fring, and Gus.As you probably know, the New Vegas character creator is ♥♥♥♥, and I'm trash at using it, so I won't be showing you how to create your character. sorry

SPECIAL Stats

These are up to you, as you probably have a preferable build for your character, however these are some suggestions:

Strength 4- Due to his age he is lacking in the strength department.
Perception 10- this man literally has eyes everywhere, he is extremely informed at all times.
Endurance 8- he somehow survived a C4 blasting his face off for a few seconds and also he is an epic chicken chef.
Charisma 5- we don't really see him being an extremely charismatic person, but he manages to hide his massive drug empire for ages and he is a successful business man.
Intelligence 7- he is the brains behind a massive drug cartel and is seemingly always aware of his assassination attempts, as well as formulating some himself.
Agility 3- due to his age and us not really seeing his skill with a gun, this is one of his weaker areas.
Luck 3- he crossed the wrong meth cook

Again, this is definitely not the best build, but in my opinion it is one of the most lore friendly, but it's up to you.

Skills and traits/b]

For skills, I chose survival, due to him being the owner of a massive chicken fast food chain, guns and barter. I chose barter because like I said before, he is an incredibly successful businessman, however speech is also an option, and guns because I personally prefer them, however if you prefer energy weapons, melee weapons, unarmed or explosives, you can choose them. I would recommend energy weapons or explosives, due to the higher perception and endurance stats, but it really is up to you.

As for traits, I chose Wild Wasteland (for obvious reasons) and good-natured. And yes, I know, he is one of the most evil characters in the Breaking Bad universe, but to anyone except his drug cartel associates, he is one of the most innocent people alive. As well as this, in this playthrough you may want to focus on speech and barter, so the good natured perk would support that.

Clothing and Weapons
This sections will give you some suggestions for weapons and clothing you may want to use through your playthrough as the Los Pollos Hermanos man himself.

Clothing

Gus can be frequently seen throughout both shows wearing glasses, so for this reason I would recommend the reading glasses. These can be found pretty frequently throughout the Mojave, but some set spawn locations are on Oliver Swanick in Nipton (he just won the mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lott-er-y) and Jeanie May in Nipton (who sold Boone's wife into slavery).

As for actual clothing, anything pre war works well, specifically the pre war business wear. This can be found on Omertas in Gomorrah on the strip, and pre war clothing can be found all over, specifically in pre war locations such as the Lucky 38 and Hoover Dam. However, this is not the best armour in terms of defence, so you may want to pick out armour that has a higher DT stat.

Weapons

In terms of weapons, we never really see Gus using weapons, but if he did I'm pretty confident he wouldn't be running around New Mexico with a fat man. He would most likely use something more discrete, for examples the 9mm pistol or police pistol (dead money exclusive), so these are suggestions. But the fat man is an option of course.
Companions
In the Mojave, it's dangerous to go alone. For this reason, in this section we will be picking out the most suitable companion for Fring, but in the post-apocalyptic Mojave. (this list will be pretty much identical to the companions from the walter white guide by the way)

Arcade Gannon

Arcade would make a suitable replacement for Walter, as he is a very informed scientist who is aware of many topics, so how hard can mass producing jet be? Arcade is a very loyal companion, as well as being armed with a strong plasma pistol, so can cover Gus if things get sticky.

Cass

Cass shares extremely similar traits to Jesse, who also worked under Gus. As an NCR citizen, Cass is used to authoritative figures such as Gus, so she would fit right in. Similar to Jesse, she is an addict, however instead of drugs alcohol, so Gus would not have to worry about her "sampling" the product.

Raul

As a central American, similar to Gus, Raul would fit right in with Gus's new post-apocalyptic cartel. Raul is loyal to anyone, and fits any playthrough as he does not mind whether you go for the bear or the bull, therefore this is another strong companion for Gus to pick from.
Factions
It is time for Gus to make a decision. Does he go with the slaves owners, the tax takers, the House or go solo and rules New Vegas by himself?

The legion

As evil as Gus is, would he really resort to slavery just to produce his product. Or, then again, is that not in Gus's character? The Legion is a strong option for Gus to choose from, most likely higher out of the others, but is it really the right choice? It is up to you to choose.

The NCR

Let's get this one out of the way; Gus would probably not go with this. They are very anti-criminal, even having their own tax and law system, and although Gus would have a large amount of customers, approximately 700,000, this is definitely not the correct option for Gus.

House

House could definitely use a person like Gus to help him take control of Vegas, but what happens after that? Would House see him for his psychopathic ways? How long would it be before the tension breaks and one of them betrays another? Although this is not the worst option for Fring, it's definitely not the best, either.

Yes Man

Being the head of the state, Gus would be able to rule unchallenged and run his cartel as much as he pleases. Personally, I think Gus would love this option, being able to have complete control over the market and an entire city and desert, so therefore in my opinion, like many character playthroughs, Yes Man is the best option.
