Compatibility:
• Not compatible with radious Mods, or Mods that change extensive in game archives.
Since most of the in game assets you will see (weapons, units, models) were created from scratch, there is no way to make the mod compatible with heavy duty mods that change a lot of in game files, please feel free to try different mods at your own discretion, If they are a small download (small File) it is possible they may work. If the game starts behaving strangely, crashes, items or units are missing, you cant upgrade the smithy chain, etc. the mod combinations you are using are incompatible.

Please feel free to leave any "constructive feedback" and bug reports, and please refrain from asking about compatibility with other MODS, Guns of Bretonnia III was created to work with the base game, while some MODS may be compatible, others that share the same directories will conflict and cause issues.

I have tested all game modes for about 200 hours with no known issues, If you run into problems, please disable all other Mods installed and run Guns of Bretonnia III only - before reporting any bugs.

I saw a game with a very cool theme and I hope you can make it. I am looking forward to games with this theme (of course... if there is a trailer, please kick me and I will support your) :):steamhappy:

@Wiator: I'm not completely sure im tracking. it sounds like you like GOB3 and will miss it once it inevitably becomes unusable again by an update (and finally taken down by me), -but im not sure what you mean; I can tell you this. -Me moving away from making MODS for total war games has nothing to do with profit or recognition, after all over the years i have invested tens of thousands of man hours to get to where i am -for zero profit and very little recognition, but there comes a point at least in my case, where you want to put the knowledge you have acquired into a project of your own (look at Manor lords) and have the artistic freedom to develop your own ideas "unconstrained" something you could never do by making MODS for someone else's creation. thanks for posting. :steamhappy:

No, it's not good news RR, I'd rather say it's a bunch of bad news Karl. Not only is mod development basically coming to an end, but there's also a lack of motivation, or they were "so-so" from the very beginning. No offense, but it's the result of, let's say, the shock of finally finding a mod that stands out from the "ultra-pro-better-fix-over" ol' god of production and... losing it. It's a really bad feeling. And then there's CA in the background, and the huge expectations that what? That they'll notice or shower you with money? After all, they're creators, they look from a different perspective, and they don't have to empathize with the emotions of every ant that prays for their "favorite" changes. I think you either make a cool mod for yourself and the rest benefit, or you grow parsley for the poor. BEST

@Karl Sturm: Hey, grand news! I wish you good luck in the industry! Hopefully this modding experience has granted you many useful knowledge and skills to use in the creation of your own dream games, I hope I get to hear about it!

@Rougue the Rougue: Thanks for the offer I appreciate it, but the core principal of it is that im tired of working for CA "pro-bono" creating content to improve their lack luster games:steamsalty:. I will update GOB3 one last time and then I am moving on to creating my own RTS using the incredible unreal engine 5, it will take me a few years but we will get there "the title of my RTS is going to be "Field Commander 1792" Napoleonic wars, with realistic army sizes 20k to 50,000 units per team, on a modern cutting edge game engine, with a level of quality that will make CA execs cry.

If you need assistence I am more than willing to pitch in for some graphical work, know my way around textures and could try to make some unit cards for you, sire

I have seen how difficult Creative Assembly is, since Rome 2, since Atilla.

Good luck trying to read script log and crash reports still, have to learn psychic precognition to comprehend why stuff keeps breaking

Anyways thanks for the reply! honestly, wasn't expecting a reply at all, lots of mod authors seem so busy, only interested in bug reports.

Hyped for what's coming!

@Karl Sturm, hey I fully sympathize with the struggle, I am a modder myself and I know what that's like, having a problem you cant fix, losing sleep imagining what else you could do, in fact, there's always something better we could do we're all fully aware of that fact, didn't mean to be that annoying guy that's never satisfied
I recognize all the effort you put in this mod, for balance, unit cards, upgrade system, this mod for what it is supposed to be, is near perfect.

@Rogue the Rogue: Thank you for taking interest in GOB3, I am traditionally a historical total war player and modder, and have been doing this for many years, GOB3 was a fringe project never intended for release to the general public, this because I know how fans of the series hold Warhammer lore very close to their hearths, and that deviating from it can in many cases be taken as an insult, hence giving guns to Bretonnia was in itself a deep deviation from the lore and reason enough for people to down-vote the mod by giving it a negative rating, nevertheless the mod was made many years ago as a fun little project to be shared with a few friends only, but to my surprise there was a lot of interest in it, and I was asked to release it to the general public, so I did.

- Its also worth pointing out that trying to balance a game were there are monsters, zombies, and ethereal creatures, from a developer standpoint is a real nightmare, -how many musket shots does it take to kill a zombie? as a logic based person, the aforementioned problems were causing me to loose sleep, after all we make these mods with deep love and dedication and we want people to enjoy the experience they bring to the game, but then I realized that at the end of the day "this is a fantasy based universe" there are no real world physical constraints or parameters -only your imagination, and it is in that spirit that I have opted to go against the tide, and provide powder weapons to Bretonnia.
Karl Sturm  [author] Mar 19 @ 5:38pm
- Also worth mentioning is the nightmare that is keeping these mods up to date and working given the incessant patches and core engine changes that CA releases seemingly on a weekly basis, while CA might have players believe that they are fully supportive and encourage Mods, as a developer I can tell you nothing could be further from the truth, their game engine is archaic, their update structure brakes MODS (I believe deliberately) and the quality of their recent games, is a subject for another discussion, but people know where I am coming from, with all this said, GOB3 recently reached a five star rating, people are still downloading it, and i believe that is cause for celebration so expect a big update coming soon! -thanks for posting.
