My Best Start
By Samuraiworrior111
This is the build I use to get what I feel is the best start to the game in terms of XP and experiencing eveything you can from waking up in Doc Mitchels, to getting to Primm. (Requires the DLCs)

Doc Mitchels
After waking up head over to the Vigor Tester and set your Special to
Strength - 6 (This is to be able to use most weapons without a problem, especially after implant)
Perception - 5
Endurance - 7 (This allows for a good amount of implants but not all, i usually go for Strength, Inteligence, DT, and any others you feel in the moment)
Charisma - 1 (Dump stat, always set to 1 unless going for charismatic off the bat)
Intelligence - 9 (Leave space for the implant to improve by 1 point)
Agility - 5 ( If you want higher you can take the small frame trait, or get implant)
Luck - 7 (This way you generally do well in casinos but can put points to other stats.)

Once Talking to the Doc on his couch, give whatever answers you feel like. Tag Speech and Barter, then whatever you want for your 3rd tag, I usually go for guns because I like to use them.

Once setting traits I ALWAYS go for skilled, the boost to skill points is WAY to valuable and since the DLC is automatic for the game there are more than enough opportunities to make up for the lost experience, and if you really dont want to loose it you can take the swift learner perk. The second is up to you. The small frame perk can be good because it gives you another agility point even before possibly taking an implant.

After getting your character finished. Go through the house and pick up everything you want, for extra XP be sure to repair the 9mm Sub machine gun, and use the chemistry set to make something, whether it be stimpacks or drugs is up to you. Also make sure you pick up the todays physician. After picking up todays physician talk to Doc before activating it and use the 25 Speech Check to get some more stimpacks(If it says you cant pass you can put on the vault 13 jumpsuit and it will give you the speech points you need to pass), then use the Todays Physician and talk to him again. This will allow you to pass a 30 Medicine and another speech check to get more XP and stimpacks. You are then free to leave Doc Mitchels house.
Leaving the house to starting Ghost Town Gunfight
When you leave Doc Mitchels there are several options you have. You can either
1. Go to every building in town and steal what you want from what you can
or
2. Go straight to Sunny Smiles
or
3. Use a glitch to get another 5 points in every single skill
Whatever you do first be sure to do the other before talking to Trudy in the Saloon.

In case you choose to do the glitch I'll explain it first.
When you go to leave the area of Goodpsrings you get a popup with the option to rebuild your character. If you choose to rebuild you can re-select the skilled trait and get another 5 points in every single skill. This is again repeatable with the auto-doc in The Sink for a grand total of 15 bonus points in every skill.

When you go to talk to Sunny, do every part of the tutorial, the shooting the bottles, the clearing of the geckos, and creating the healing powder. When clearing the rest of the geckos, I use the shotgun to clear them because its a guaranteed 1 shot when close, making it so you can definitely save the girl who is being attacked by some for the rep bonus with the town. After finishing every part of the tutorial with Sunny I usually talk to Barton Thorn and do his quest by clearing the geckos and getting the stuff from the cache. If you chose to take the Wild Wasteland Trait this one of the experiences for the trait. By this time you should definitely have leveled up by now. The only thing you need to do is make it so that Barter, Speech(or sneak), and Explosives are all at 25 so that you can talk everyone in town into joining the Ghost Town Gunfight.

Now that you have leveled up to level 2. Go talk to Trudy in the Saloon and ask her about anything you want to, be sure to fix her radio and when telling her to take the Barter Check. All of this things help with small amounts of XP. You are now ready to start Ghost Town Gunfight. Go to the gas station in Goodsprings to talk to Ringo.
Ghost Town Gunfight
This section is fairly short and straightforward.

After talking to Ringo and letting him know that you are willing to help him take on the Powder Gangers, go talk to Sunny in the Saloon. She will tell you to talk to Trudy, Easy Pete, Chet, and Doc Mitchel to get some supplies. If you have followed the guide properly you should be able to pass Trudy's Speech or Stealth checks, Easy Pete's Explosives check, and Chet's Barter check. Doc Mitchell has a medicine check of 30 that doesnt give XP but does give 2 Doctors bags that can come in handy later.

After talking to everyone and passing the checks, go back to Ringo and let him know you are ready. Sunny will come in and tell you they are here. When fighting the Powder Gangers, you can do damage, but DO NOT kill any of them, this will lower you reputation too much to follow parts of the guide later. Doing damage will let you collect XP from them but not a negative rep hit.
Helping the Powder Gangers
After you beat the Ghost Town Gunfight without killing any Powder Gangers, collect all the loot and sell off any you wish to, but be sure to keep Joe Cobbs Guard outfit. This will let you get into the prison without being shot at.

When looking east from the Saloon in goodsprings you will see the Yangtze Memorial. Head to it and there is a small amount of loot you can take at the base. When looking at the memorial from the direction you came from, look to your right and you should see the NCR Correctional Facility(NCRCF). Put on the Powder Ganger Guard armor you got from Joe Cobbs body, and go to the gate. Talk to the man out front and you will need to pay some caps to get in, but you get that and more back later. Head to the 2 Story Building in the prison and go to the office on the second floor and talk to Eddie. He will send you on several errands.

When doing the first, talk Chavez out of hanging around, then kill him for the most XP

When talking to the "Merchant", use the speech check, then tell him that there is a toll, and a second speech check will pop up. After passing both of these, kill him.

When he sends you to go find out if there are plans to attack the NCRCF, go into Primm and talk to Johnson Nash and do whatever you want to get him to tell you. When talking to the NCR turn on Eddie and attack the prison.

This is the best start that I have found to getting all you can in terms of XP and quests completed until entering Primm. Good luck on your adventures and all the best in Freeing the Wasteland from the wretched hands of whichever faction(s) you choose to eject from the Mojave.

This guide should really start with "Requires DLC."

All XP you lose? XP is an infinite resource used to attain limited resource Skill Points. 1 skill point every other level is still 25 skill points.

1 skill point every other level in my opinion isnt worth all the xp youd lose from not meeting stat requirements and suck. If the 10 INT is that important it is an option like I said, or you can rush 4k caps and NV medical clinic to get the implant before leveling up too manyt times.

but starting with int 10 grants you more skill points as you level up on your way to get the int 10 implant.

Starting with 10 INT and Lowering Endurance is an option, but if you do that you cant claim all 3 doc mitchell checks because you medicine will be over 30 to begin with and therefore cant claim the solo speech check. The whole guide is build in such a way that you can either just barely on your own meet checks or with the help of a skill book or apparel.

Why not start with int 10 and lower endurance by 1 point?
