[WOTC][LWOTC] Iridar's Bounty Hunter Class

Popis
Adds a new soldier class, Bounty Hunter. They specialize in eliminating priority targets by ambushing them with surprise attacks and explosives. They are similar to Reapers, but with less emphasis on stealth and scouting, and more on single target burst damage.

XCOM Bounty Hunters are acquired through Covert Actions, where you send a rookie to train under an experienced Bounty Hunter, and later your rookie returns as a squaddie Bounty Hunter.

By default, you can have only one Bounty Hunter at a time.

Primary Weapon: Vektor Rifle.
Secondary Weapon: Handcannon - a powerful revolver with limited ammunition.
Armor: Reaper Armor, Light Armor (the latter requires [WOTC] Rusty's Armour Category Tweaks)

Bounty Hunters lose their regular Utility Slot, just like Reapers.

Stat progression:
Aim: 20
HP: 5
Hack: 15

HANDCANNONS

This mod adds three tiers of Handcannons, a secondary weapon that is exclusive to Bounty Hunters.

They come with 5 shots per mission, and deal 5-6 +3 / 6-7 +4 / 7-8 +5 damage, and have built-in +20% Crit Chance bonus.

They also have their own breakthrough for +1 damage.

Handcannons are normally upgraded by regular Pistol squad upgrades.

LORE

Bounty Hunters are Reapers that travel around the world, killing especially nasty aliens and ADVENT officials and collaborators, for a price. They are basically cowboy witchers. But your XCOM Bounty Hunters are specifically the XCOM soldiers that underwent Bounty Hunter training, they are not Reapers.

Bounty Hunters have two bread and butter squaddie-rank abilities:

Nightfall - grants concealment for 2 turns, 5 turn cooldown. This concealment has Shadow-like small detection radius, but attacking breaks it.

Dead of Night - this passive ability provides +100% Crit Chance against enemies that don't see you, and for every 20% of Crit Chance above 100%, you gain +1 Critical Damage. It sounds complicated, but there are two simple takeaways:

1) You always crit when concealed.
2) More Crit Chance = more Damage. Handcannons' built-in +20% Crit Chance will grant +1 Crit Damage when concealed. Flanking an enemy will grant +40% Crit Chance, which will grant +2 Crit Damage. And so on.

The overall gameplay loop of the Bounty Hunter is to use the Nightfall concealment to sneak up on a specific enemy, and then attack with a huge critical hit.

Bounty Hunter is a damage dealer class; Nightfall is intentionally bad for scouting, as the lengthy cooldown, short duration, and the class relying on it for damage output will make it highly undesirable to use it "just to look around". Ideally, Bounty Hunter should be acting based on intel provided by a dedicated scout.

SPECIALIZATION: RAIDER

Raider is the explosive specialization. It relies on critical hits with Homing Mine and Grenades to add some oomph to the initial attack, and then gains an extra action to finish the job right then and there.

SPECIALIZATION: CHASER

Chaser is the in-your-face specialization. It's all about getting into close range and then blowing enemies' heads off with the Handcannon. Importantly, Chaser can attack without breaking Nightfall concealment, turning into an unseen god of death for those two turns.

SPECIALIZATION: HITMAN

Hitman is the "long range" specialization. It uses the vektor rifle to attack enemies at squadsight ranges. Enemies don't see you at squadsight ranges, so you can benefit from Dead of Night without using Nightfall.

REQUIREMENTS
Safe to add mid-campaign.

COMPATIBILITY

Compatible with [WOTC] Prototype Armoury and [WOTC] Covert Infiltration out of the box - Handcannons have infiltration values and will automatically switch to single-buildable mode.

Musashi's RPG Overhaul - adds three Bounty Hunter specializations. The covert action for Bounty Hunter will still be there, but you don't have to use it.

[WOTC] Soldier Development - INCOMPATIBLE, use [WOTC] Soldier Development Redux (beta) instead.
[WOTC] No Stat Boost From Covert Actions - INCOMPATIBLE, these mods remove ALL slot rewards from ALL Covert Actions, including the "make this soldier a Bounty Hunter" reward from my mod.

LONG WAR OF THE CHOSEN

This mod is compatible with Long War of the Chosen out of the box.

Handcannons become single-buildable, and the Bounty Hunter gains an extra rank with the following abilities:
Raider: Needle Grenades
Chaser: Close and Personal
Hitman: Aggression

Similarly to LWOTC's own classes, LWOTC Bounty Hunter uses several preconfigured random ability decks to generate its fourth row of Training Center perks.

Stat progression:
Aim: 24
HP: 3
Will: 8

Important note: due to LWOTC's changes to hit calculations, Dead of Night can no longer guarantee critical hits, it just makes them much more likely.

Hi, I'm running the mod on WOTC and when the solider reaches SGT there is no choice for skills it's blank and won't move forward. It didn't do this under LWOTC do I need to make a chance to fix the issue?

LOVE the mod btw, it's been a must-have ever since I first grabbed it!
the description states you can only have one bounty hunter at a time by default, and further states many aspects of the mod are configurable through the files in the mod's Config folder. Having gone through those files as best I was able, I was unable to locate the line of code that determines how many bounty hunters you can have at a time - I was hoping to make a duo.

Is this something that's configurable, and I just did a bad job of finding it, or is it not an option to tweak it on my end because of how it's made?

I just downloaded this and went to check it in disable any class and it shows two... Is one supposed to be the original or is it something else?

It's not supposed to be in the list. You can acquire a Bounty Hunter via covert action. Read the description.
