Intro

The AWP | "POP" has surprisingly been one of the most commonly requested guides I have been repeatedly asked to make for the community! I think what makes this AWP so popular is it's relative affordability combined with amount of unique patterns available. I spent a LOT of time on this guide - so I hope it will serve the community well!

Obviously there is a large level of objectivity that must be acknowledged in regards to "tierlists" and I am not claiming that my opinion is the be-all-end-all in regards to the tier ranking - as everyone will have their own opinions and preferences. However, I have spent at least 35 or so hours making this guide over the past few weeks and have manually inspected all 1000 patterns to break them into categories and tiers - so I have seen my fair share of "POP" patterns.
Pattern Categories Explained
To begin, I sorted through every single "POP" pattern available to manually to pick out the top BTA (Better Than Average) patterns.

For this guide, I decided that using "in-game" screenshots like I usually do - would not be the best option because the AWP's "inspect" animation does not give a really clear image of the entire gun. Instead - I decided to use CSMoney's "Wiki" page to generated .png images that give a much clearer view of the pattern.

I then entered the top patterns into a spreadsheet and sorted / grouped them into categories based on the pattern categories I found. These are the patterns that I came up with:

"упражнят" Patterns
These are the patterns that feature the phrase "упражнят" in a grey circle on two different locations on the gun. These patterns are ranked higher based upon how centered the main section is and how much of the second circle is showing on the stock.

Example "упражнят" Pattern (#340)

MAX WHITE Patterns
These are the patterns that have the most surface area of white - although, the more desirable ones are not based purely on surface area, but also how "level" or "horizontal" the pattern is.

Example "Max White" Pattern (#87)

"bcя" Patterns
These are the patterns that feature the letters "bcя" on a white background. Because of how much white there is on these patterns - there is some crossover patterns from the "Max White" section. This section is broken up into 2 categories: "Body" and "Stock" Positions based on where the "bcя" is located. The higher ranked patterns are generally the patterns that are most centered in their respective section of the AWP.

Example Body "bcя" Pattern (#382)

Example Stock "bcя" Pattern (#141)

"Hж6" Patterns
These are the patterns that feature the phrase "Hж6" on a black background. Similar to the "bcя" patterns - this section is also broken up into categories: "Body" "Stock" Positions as well as a third category - "Double 'Hж6' Patterns" based on where the "Hж6" is located. The higher ranked patterns are generally the patterns that are most "level" (horizontally) and centered in their respective section of the AWP.

Example Body "Hж6" Pattern (#807)

Example Stock "Hж6" Pattern (#179)

Example Double "Hж6" Pattern (#41)

CHECKERBOARD Patterns
These are the patterns that feature a bunch of small squares that make up a sort of "checkerboard" pattern. These patterns are ranked higher based on how centered the main checkerboard section is on the body of the gun.

Example "Checkerboard" Pattern (#873)

CURVED RETRO SPECTRUM Patterns
This category includes various patterns that have the curved "rainbow" of stripes that are bent around in various interesting ways. I named them "Retro Spectrum" because they reminded me of the similarities to the VHS / Camera logos and marketing of the 1970s-1980s. These patterns are not really "ranked" because of how much personal preference plays into it. These patterns will probably not incur a lot (if any) overpay - but they are definitely unique!

Example "Retro Spectrum" Pattern (#403)

STRAIGHT RETRO SPECTRUM Patterns
Similar to the "Curved" Retro Spectrum patterns - these include the rainbow stripes as well. However, these are the patterns that are just straight lines as opposed to the more curved "rainbow" designs of the "curved" category.

Example "Striped" Pattern (#491)

PICASSO Patterns
I thought I should make a small category for these patterns because of how few of them actually exist. These are the patterns that resemble Pablo Picasso's Cubism paintings. I don't expect these to be very popular - but they are very unique and would work very well in a loadout that features the AK-47 "Leet Museo." These are generally ranked higher according to how "level" the pattern is horizontally.

Example "Picasso" Pattern (#344)

VERTICAL Patterns
These are the patterns that simply have the most vertical layouts. These are very niche - but there may be some cool things you could do with sticker crafts - so I thought they were worth including. These patterns are ranked based on how vertically "level" the art is.

Example "Vertical" Pattern #763

SUS Patterns
Finally, I had to include these "meme" patterns because of how popular they have become - due in large part to them being featured on social media and youtube by collectors. These are the patterns that look like they have characters from "Among Us" on the front strap-mount section of the gun. Most of these have already been discovered - but I did find a few new ones that were not included in other people's lists. These are VERY subjective, based on what each person "sees" so take these with a grain of salt - but they DO incur overpay! There are 4 separate color "SUS" patterns Blue, Purple, Red and White.

Example Blue "SUS" Pattern #951

Example Purple "SUS" Pattern #209

Example Red "SUS" Pattern #206

Example White"SUS" Pattern #747

Note: There are a few patterns that fit into multiple categories, however I will generally put them into the category that they fit best into (with a few exceptions.)
"упражнят" Patterns
These patterns are ordered from BEST (at the top) to WORST (at the bottom)

Please note that I have only added the best patterns for each category to the tierlist. Any other patterns that did NOT make it into the top tiers but are BTA (Better Than Average) will be lisited numerically at the bottom of each category.
