Description
This is a simple little mod that alters the range of the searchlight to match up with the turret targeting range - to help you see your enemies at night.

It also increases the range on the spotlights while keeping their spread approximately the same as vanilla.

Searchlight: Small grid range increased to 800m. Large grid increased to 1km.
Spotlight: Small grid range increased to 250m. Large grid increased to 300m.
Floodlight: Small grid range increased to 180m. Large grid increased to 250m.
Offset Spotlight: range increased to 160m.

These are not extra blocks, they simply replace the vanilla block. This is preferable for me as it means my builds remain vanilla, only getting the extra range when the mod is present :)

getting an error about the cube_blocks_contactpack.sbc, flood_light.DDS it doesnt like the capitals in the file extension

Updated to boost the range of all the spotlight type blocks, particularly the floodlights from the contact update.

As before, this is a vanilla block replacement so your blueprints remain vanilla and only get the range boost when the mod is present :)

Tiger, I feel your pain. I am also desperate to find something to improve the suit lights. Because when replacing the skybox to something more realistic, the suit lights can not prevent you from crashing into a tree at night because they only illuminate the tree when you already cant stop from dying. All vanilla lights are useless at proper night and normal movement speed. 1 Km for small grid, 2km for large grid are great. But the suit lights should be able to illuminate at least 50 meters (great if it could adjusted on the mod the actual value).

I don't suppose there's any way to make the spacesuit lights have longer range too? Obviously you can't adjust their range like with grid spotlights, but it's jarring to have such powerful lights with this mod and yet the suit lights can still only reach a couple of dozen meters at best. It'd be nice if the suit lights could be double or triple the default range when this mod is active.

For folks having trouble with Searchlights and WeaponCore - check your vanilla replacer, some of them affect the searchlight and will cause the 4m range issue.

I dont use weaponcore, too advanced for me ;)
I've been trying to figure it out because i dont use many just because they tent to break the game in mp. I have a hand or two handful of mods like colour icons. Nothing that changes the game too much fundamentally tho.

This is a one line xml edit, if you're having crashes it'll almost certainly not be due to this mod but due to some interaction with a more significant mod like WeaponCore
