Arma 2 Helicopters Remastered

Description


Arma 2 Helicopters Remastered brings you the majority of the missing helicopters from Arma 2 directly into the DayZ Expansion vehicles framework. All models have been ported while keeping the most amount of detail and features from the original models and expanded with more unique to DayZ.

Features


- Updated textures and materials for the majority of helis.

- Animated and illuminated interiors/cockpits.

- A set of extra lights with it's own key input to add more detail to the models. Position and collision lights.


- Animated landing gear on the Mi24 Hind, KA52 Alligator and AW101 Merlin HC3.


- Flying models tweaked to ensure no helicopter feels the same.

- All models have a set of basic visual damage system in place, proper configuration to avoid invincible pilots or helis.

- A Toolbox set of attachment slots that can hold a Wrench, CamoNet, Jerry Can and a Satellite Radio, to ensure compatiblity and ease of use for players with mods like Flip Transport.


- The Satellite Radio can be used while flying any of the helis and has server wide range. Simply insert it into the slot before taking of and control it from the pilot seat as you please.

- 30+ Skins across multiple helis ready to use thanks to the DayZ Expansion Spraycan systems with more to come. Most of them are the original color variants from Arma 2 along some new ones.

- Expansion Vehicle Cover compatiblity. Covers are already included in this package ready to work with no extra configuration needed.


Requirements and Installation


A DayZ Expansion installation, either full or just vehicles is mandatory, the mod won't work without and won't ever be reworked for compatiblity with other helicopter mods.
With that in mind, just install like any other mod, Expansion Market files and types.xml are included in the Extras folder.

Future updates


As if the madness of such amount of helicopters wasn't enough the future updates will bring even more content like:
- 3 new Helicopters models.
- More skins.
- Updated sounds.
- Material lightning and visual damage configs.
- And yes, what everyone is going to ask for, a full set of weapons for each model. This is something that will eventually happen, no ETA at all cause it doesn't depend on just my work and it's something that needs to be done with a lot of attention and requires the talent of more people than just me.

I highly discourage of trying to repack this mod else you'll miss out on these updates. As one of the greatest minds of this community once said.

@Josecitox I found that it doesn't work if you land on Land_Tisy_RadarPlatform_Top.
No other helicopter has the problem.

@Omnilight That's quite dificult to do, the game doesn't support controllers on PC you need to use external apps to sort of make them work sadly.

(a rumor passed around by server owners)." this is not a rumor, but a reality and a fact, the fewer assets (mods) the faster the server is running.. a banal example for idiots who do not understand this, if you put 1 sandwich in your mouth, you will chew it, and if you choke on 10, who did not understand, read it several times. and the one who claims the opposite is either an idiot or a piece of fat , stupid fat . information about the sandwich from the game developers themselves, if the game had multithreading and the ability to process on multiple processor cores, it would make sense, and since both the game and the server use 1 processor core, which everything rests on. withdrawal of fewer assets higher productivity
