Steam VR Trophy Guide

A quick guide to the Steam Trophies for your games displayed in the Steam VR Home and what the different aspects of their appearance means. Which data drives which aspects of their appearance.

Introduction

This is a quick guide to trophies, and which data about your game is used to generate the appearance of the your trophy. For some reason this information doesn't seem to be well published elsewhere, so here it is, as best as I can determine.

Trophy Cup Size and Material

Trophy Cups Size (*not that kind) and Material is based entirely upon the percentage of achievements you have achieved for a particular game. Note that for games that do not have achievements, the percentage is calculated as 0%, not 100%, so those trophies will always be black/iron.

• 0% Black Iron
  
• 0.01-33.33% Bronze
  
• 33.34-66.66% Silver
  
• 66.67-99.99% Gold
  
• 100% Platinum

Trophy Base Material

Trophy Base Material is Determined by the level of badges crafted from trading cards for the game in question.

• Level 0 Badges - Wood
  
• Level 1 Badges - Marble
  
• Level 2 Badges - Carbon Fiber
  
• Level 3 Badges - Silver
  
• Level 4 Badges - Gold
  
• Level 5 Badges - Titanium?
  
• Foil Badge - Foiled/Holographic Base

Conclusion

That appears to be the data that is used to determine the appearance of your trophy now get out there and make your VR home proud.

I have all achievements in Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin, but the trophy is still black iron.

I checked on my own, on v1.14 (Linux) levels 3, 4 and 5 are all silver, so... they fucked up in any case.

SteamVR hasn't been updated to work with the updated game list API and falls back to SteamVR Library, which you can alter using this guide:

Just be sure to restore backup in case you add non-VR games just for the purpose of placing trophies.

That is a super cool detail. I would totally fill my space with my best trophies and favorite games
