XM1014 "XOXO" Pattern Guide & Tierlist

An overly in-depth guide and tierlist for the XM1014 "XOXO" patterns.

Intro

I wanted to create this guide because I feel like this is a very overlooked and underrated skin and Iactually really like the pattern variations available. Each pattern varies so much - that there is actually different "subsets" of patterns that look like totally different skins! The "XOXO" is a great choice for Cyan, Pink and Yellow Inventories - or just anyone who is a fan of "punk."

Obviously there is a large level of objectivity that must be acknowledged in regards to "tierlists" and I am not claiming that my opinion is the be-all-end-all in regards to the tier ranking - as everyone will have their own opinions and preferences. However, I have spent at least 50 hours making this guide over the past few weeks and have manually inspected thousands of patterns to break them into categories and tiers - so I have seen my fair share of "XOXO" patterns.

It should be noted that this list is for Factory New (FN) , Minimal Wear (MW) , and Field Tested (FT) conditions only - as it would be a substantial amount of work to go through an additional 300-1500 patterns that have been unboxed only for Well Worn (WW) or Battle Scarred (BS) and would probably not be worth it (because of the condition).

Pattern Categories Explained

To begin, I sorted through every single "XOXO" pattern available for (FN), (MW), and (FT) to manually to pick out the top 284 BTA (Better Than Average) patterns.

I then entered the top 284 patterns into a spreadsheet and (using the broskins server) generated every single one into a server that allowed me to hold and inspect them. After taking screenshots of each of the 284 BTA XM1014s - I sorted them and grouped them into categories based on the colors and images. These are the patterns that I came up with:

SKULL PATTERNS

These are the best patterns that contain the skull artwork and have a small subset of patterns that only include the mohawk.

"XXX" PATTERNS

These patterns are pretty self explanitory and tend to be the most desired and expensive patterns for obvious reasons.

CYAN GLYPH PATTERNS

These patterns have the most Cyan coverage on the receiver and contain various "glyphs" consisting mostly of "=" and "x" as well as other abstract symbols.

PINK MESH PATTERNS

These patterns feature a completely pink receiver with a sprayed "mesh" pattern.

SMILEY PATTERNS

These patterns consist of two different categories of smiley faces: Pink Smileys (which are much bigger and are sprayed on) and Black Smileys (which are smaller and are sometimes accompanied by the word "smile")

"BURN IT DOWN" PATTERNS

These are the patterns that contain the words "BURN IS DOWN" - however, you usually only see a few of the words at a time since it is difficult to find a pattern that contains the whole phrase.

"LIVE YOUR LIFE" PATTERNS

These are the patterns that contain the words "LIVE YOUR LIFE" - however (much like the "burn it down" patterns) it can be difficult to get a pattern with the entire phrase. This can lead to some interesting subsets though such as the rare "LIFE" patterns!

"YEAH RIGHT" PATTERNS

Patterns that contain the phrase "YEAH RIGHT" . . . obviously.

"SA" SIGNATURE PATTERNS

These are the very rare patterns that have SA_22's (the creator of the skin) signature on them. There are two sub-sets of this category: an orage box signature, and a black box signature.

BERRY PATTERNS

These are the patterns that contain at least 70% or more coverage of Pink and Blue (and the least amount of yellow).

SMOOTHIE PATTERNS

These are the most common patterns available and have at least 90% coverage of Pink and Yellow (no blue).

MISCELLANEOUS PATTERNS

These are various patterns that were to rare to make into their own category such as the "COX" pattern, the "PUNK" pattern, etc.
