Archipelago Multiworld Randomizer

This Integrates Slay the Spire into the Archipelago Randomizer Multiworld system.

check out Archipelago's Website[archipelago.gg] and the Slay the Spire Page[archipelago.gg].

This mod requires you to connect to an Archipelago game that has included slay the spire in it. you can find out more by joining Archipelago's Discord[discord.gg].

What Is Archipelago?
Archipelago is a multi-game multi-world randomizer. you can randomize any and all of the following games, as of writing, and shuffle their items between one another:
  • Zelda: A Link to the Past
  • Factorio
  • Risk of Rain 2
  • Subnautica
  • Minecraft
  • Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  • Slay the Spire

What is Randomized
Slay the Spire is already by nature randomized. What this mod does it change some of the items you would normally receive into Archipelago sendables, or items that can be sent to other games (that may include any of the previous mentioned games)

the following "locations" are used in Slay the Spire
  • Every other hallway card draw
  • Every random relic pickup
  • Every boss relic pickup
  • Rare card drops from bosses
in return your card draw's and relics can be sent to you from other people by playing their own game.

How do I Play?
we play Archipelago Multiworlds all the time in our discord (linked above) feel free to hop in and join us. what you will need is a configuration file that tells the Archipelago generator that you want to play Slay the Spire, you can generate a basic yaml from the Slay the Spire Page[archipelago.gg]. or use the more advanced yaml to randomize what character you start at or what Ascension level you will be playing on: Here [archipelago.gg]

I feel the way you have to play this archipelago is to try to fight every monster/elite encounter and go nowhere else unless you have to and also wait around a frickload for your friends to drop card drops and relics for you. overall this was a real garbage archipelago game as of current play. they could improve this and make it good, but like only 30 checks, pick a different game. cards and relics don't get replaced, you get locked into 1 seed, and doing multiple runs breaks it and removes relics your friends send to you, so it's bad, gamers

You should add Hollow Knight to the list. It has an Archipelago randomizer mod :zote:

For those who asked, there is an Archipelago Discord where ideas are constantly being discussed. I can't link an invite in here, but if you visit Archipelago.gg, you'll be able to find it on the top right corner

would also love an option for a different seed at the start of every run, I don't think running through with the same seed over and over is very interesting

The other thing I'd like to see is a better game loop. This is just spit-balling here as I don't know how the code works to generate the "locations" and if any of this would be feasible. Right now you just run a single seed with basically the same deck (unless you restart from the beginning).
- It would be fun to be able to re-roll the seed each time you restart from the beginning. That way you see other card's show up, and new rooms.
- Add modes to have to play through all characters (or a subset). To be able to prolong the game. Each of the characters could have their own unlocks as well.
- Be able to play through multiple ascensions (do jumps by 5 or something if you keep unlocks)

Love the mod. Is there any way to expand the .yaml properties to include more options for randomization? Suggestions:
- Number of Relics (normal and boss)
- Number of Card Draws (normal and rare)

I know this messes with the difficulty (making easier/harder). But the option would be nice. And I think it would be fairly easy with how I think the code is setup.

Would it be possible to add more "locations" to increase the pool of things you can "unlock"?:
- Gold
- Potions
- Max HP (could just be extra Strawberry relics)

The first two are a bit more temporary (though depending on how they are coded you might start each run with the bonus gold and potion options, which could get weird).

The game will softlock if you click the Archipelago button during an encounter. If the issue is not able to be fixed, please warn the player via an in-game text box at the start. Thank you!

@Crys Killjoy - Slotname is whatever is in the archipelago yaml file for the character name. It is case sensitive
