Intro

The "Emerald Jörmungandr" is an extremely unique Deagle skin with a ton of very interesting patterns that are hiding various serpent heads! Unfortunately, there was not a lot of info on the patterns available - so I did the work of going through all the patterns and categorizing them so you don't have to!

Obviously there is a large level of objectivity that must be acknowledged in regards to "tierlists" and I am not claiming that my opinion is the be-all-end-all in regards to the tier ranking - as everyone will have their own opinions and preferences. However, I have spent at least 40 or so hours making this guide over the past few weeks and have manually inspected all 1000 patterns to break them into categories and tiers - so I have seen my fair share of "Emerald Jörmungandr" patterns.

It should be noted that this list is for the Factory New (FN) condition only - as it would be a substantial amount of work to go through and find every pattern not available in FN (especially when most collectors will only be looking for FN) and not for Minimal Wear (MW), Field Tested (FT), Well Worn (WW) or Battle Scarred (BS).
Pattern Categories Explained
To begin, I sorted through every single "Emerald Jörmungandr" pattern available for (FN) to manually to pick out the top BTA (Better Than Average) patterns.

For this guide, I decided that using "in-game" screenshots like I usually do - would not be the best option because the Desert Eagle "inspect" animation would mean that I would have to manually flip every picture. Instead - I decided to use CSMoney's "Wiki" page to generated png images that give a much clearer view of the pattern.

I then entered the top patterns into a spreadsheet and sorted them and grouped them into categories based on the pattern categories I found. These are the patterns that I came up with:

TIP POSITION
These are the patterns that feature the serpent on the "tip" or "nose" of the gun in varying directions and angles. These are probably not the most desirable patterns - because the tip of the Desert Eagle is not very visible in-game; however, these are nice collector pieces that look great in menu inspect!

Example "Tip Position" Pattern (#966)

GRIP POSITION
These are the patterns that feature the serpent on the "grip" or "handle" of the gun. These are generally one of the more sought-after patterns because of how visible the serpent is during the "inspect" animation. The ranking of these patterns is based on the centering and the angle of the serpent.

Example "Grip Position" Pattern (#822)

STICKER POSITION
I wasn't sure what to call this category, but these are the patterns that have the serpent on what would be generally considered the best sticker position (nearest to the handle on the top.) These are either the 1st or 2nd most desired patterns generally (based on personal opinion) because the serpent is visible at all times.

Example "Sticker Position" Pattern (#21)

DOUBLE SERPENT
These patterns feature 2x serpents somewhere on the gun. They are usually not very close together because of how the pattern template works - and there are a few different "groupings" of serpents. These tiers are based entirely on personal opinion.

Example "Double Serpent" Pattern (#691)

TRIPLE SERPENT
There are only a few patterns that feature 3x serpents (and frankly some of them are a bit of a stretch.) I am not sure how desired or popular these are - but I thought they were unique enough to include in their own category.

Example "Triple Serpent" Pattern (#377)

BACK POSITION
These are more of a niche pattern and feature the serpent on the rear of the gun near the hammer. What makes these so unique is that the texture is "mirrored" horizontally on the back of the gun in a strange way - which makes some pretty cool patterns. My favorite of these is what I have endearingly called the "GRINCH" pattern (#251) - for obvious reasons.

Example "Back Position" Pattern (#251)

HAMMER SERPENT
These are very, VERY niche patterns that feature the serpent on the side of the actual hammer of the gun! Because the hammer is actually always "♥♥♥♥♥♥" - you will be able to see him at all times. I thought these were really cool, and there are only a few patterns that have this - however I don't expect these to get any overpay.

Example "Hammer Serpent" Pattern (#58)

(ALMOST) 4x SERPENT
There is only one pattern (that I found) that has 4x serpents visible - making this probably the rarest pattern type. However, the full serpents are not completely visible. (as a side note - there are a few patterns that you can see the very edge of the 4th serpent - but I don't really count them because of how small of a piece it is)

"4x Serpent" Pattern (#813)

USE YOUR IMAGINATION . . .
There is one pattern that really looks like a part of anatomy that I will not be discussing in this guide - but I thought it was worth mentioning . . . lol

Patern #108

HEART PATTERN
I did find one pattern that has a very small, upside-down heart on the back of the hammer - however I don't think anyone will really buy an expensive deagle just for this.

"Heart" Pattern #34

TOP OF GUN PATTERNS
These are the only patterns that I did not include photos of in this guide because they are not very interesting, and there is an overwhelming amount of patterns that feature the serpent in the section highlighted below. In my opinion, these are not very interesting, but some people may like them - so I will list the BTA (Better than Average) patterns that I found while digging through everything:

BTA PATTERNS: 4, 7, 15, 41, 43, 73, 75, 85, 87, 96, 112, 121, 124, 138, 148, 156, 204, 211, 234, 242, 263, 266, 273, 290, 307, 321, 334, 335, 350, 355, 356, 405, 410, 431, 441, 448, 451, 466, 474, 480, 522, 525, 531, 539, 553, 554, 581, 582, 598, 603, 605, 617, 620, 629, 634, 640, 640, 641, 644, 668, 675, 741, 744, 750, 759, 802, 839, 870, 878, 883, 919, 923, 945, 946, 964, 975, 986, 987, 993, 999

Example 1 of "Top of Gun" Pattern (#87)

Example 2 of "Top of Gun" Pattern (#920)

Note: There are a few patterns that fit into multiple categories, however I will generally put them into the category that they fit best into (with a few exceptions.)
"Tip Position" Patterns
These patterns are ordered from BEST (at the top) to WORST (at the bottom)

Please note that I have only added the best patterns for each category to the tierlist. Any other patterns that did NOT make it into the top tiers but are BTA (Better Than Average) will be listed numerically at the bottom of each category.
