I've heard your cries loud and clear and have such created an easier alternative.
Sitting at a comfy 29K polygons, the PUBGM version should be much easier on your computers.

Guys, if your model is black (and it will be black), then you can fix it. As I noticed, there are problems with the materials, namely with .vmt. If you have VTFeditor, great. Open this path Workshop\materials\models\tettris\mechag\pubgm. Opening it will show .vtf and .vmt materials. Using VTFEditor open all the .vmt files and look for the line "$color2" "[0 0 0]". It is this line that makes the model black. Now change "$color2" "[1 1 1]" in all .vmt files. Now you have repaired the model (it help me).

Do you still have the files from the game so I could try and rip Godzilla and Kong? I wouldn't mind porting them

But yeah, I'll definitely try my own porting job of the hipoly model if it's available. I can probably crunch it down to just 1 or 2 parts, so hopefully that'll alleviate some of the complaints.
