SBerry Ball Turret

Description
This is a collection of blocks to make a Sperry Ball "Turret". It includes 2 round cockpits, custom hinge that is 1 small grid block tall, and a rotor that is also 1 small grid block tall.
I know that this isn't 100% to real world applications, but I like the way this is set up. This is a stand alone version of the variants that are in my cockpit emporium mod.

For best results use Whip's MART https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=944915802&searchtext=MART

Update 5/5/8/21
Because I hate myself I've added a Left and Right variant of the cockpits.

same question as @Jack Schitt does this work with the automaton update?

Does this work with the turret controller or do we absolutely need MART and manually operate it?

Schmetterling, making me wish steam had a better block function :D

Joking aside with the warefare 2 release is there any scope to get a version of this with conveyor ports because this would be awesome for custom turrets as it ?

I hope Schmetterling makes that turret instead of telling other people how to do things. Spacebar thanks for the mod.

Примерно так я вижу турель данного типа. Желаю вам успехов в реализации ваших задумок в виде модов. Удачи.

This is how I see a turret of this type. I wish you success in implementing your ideas in the form of mods. Good luck.

Well, and an addition: on the sides, outside, of the cabin, where the installation of the guns is supposed to be, make inserts with the ports of the conveyors, for the two and four gun versions, respectively. You can also embed an invisible camera on the glass, as is done in the mods "DockingCameras" and "Connector Docking Camera Version 2" . At least one small screen on the side to display the number of shells in the guns or the internal inventory of the cockpit.
There is also an idea to build the gyroscope functions into the cockpit itself (in the cockpit settings, just add the on/off of this function and the gyroscope power adjustment regulator), which will allow you to make turrets without using a script.

Third: in fact, the cockpit of the ball turret. This is BALL / SPHERE , but trimmed at the sides to fit into the base of the hinge. That is, the hinge of the trimmed sphere/ball ~ 3 blocks, like yours, but together with the lugs of the base of the hinge ~ 3.5-4 blocks (the lugs of the base of the hinge complete the shape of the ball cabin). The pilot's entrance is from the back of the turret operator. The position of the pilot is such that the line of sight runs along the diameter of the cockpit, that is, through the center and makes aiming easier. The cabin is slightly heated into the body, by about 1/3 of the diameter, respectively, the base of the hinge also has an annular base and a hollow one.

Second: hinge Vertical-horizontal, the type depends on the position of the hinge in space on the ship (vertical - lower/upper hemisphere, starboard/port side - horizontal). The concept of such a hinge, AGAIN , was invented before you and a rather successful version. I'm talking about the vanilla hinge, remove the hinge head and put the ball turret cockpit in its place. And also limit the ascent angle from 0 to 90 degrees, where 0 is at the zenith, that is, perpendicular to the base.
