Introduction
Are you disappointed to drag the corpse this far, throw it into the crematorium and... well, that's it? Not even a simple "thank you". Meanwhile, all the cannibals, psychopaths and human leather hat tycoons get richer every second.

Here at the Honest Corpse we don't feed cadaver to the wargs. We don't burn the corpse with Molotov cocktails, like it was some Russian bourgeoisie carcass. No.

We treat corpses with dignity.

It ain't much, but it's Honest Corpse.




Content
This mod introduces 4 new cremation options for more civilized colonies. These will not make you rich: disposing of the corpse and keeping the colony clean is still the main reward by itself.

- Cremate corpse
Stays the same. It's quickest, it just helps to clean area and apparel is burned as well.

- Liquefy corpse
Your colonist will now make sure that valuable body fats melt safely and drain down before everything burns. It will take a bit more time, but grants 10x Chemfuel.

- Extract Iron
Did you know that human body contains trace amounts of iron? It would be a shame if it went to waste. Also, take out our bullets while you're at it. 10x Steel.

- Turn into fertilizer
Set lower temperature so that the ashes retain as much fertilizing properties as possible. You'll need Dubs Bad Hygiene to use this option. Grants 25x Biosolids. Works with animal corpses too!

- Acidify corpse
Now, it's no easy task, but you can use crematorium heat to initiate chemical reaction and condense few drops of Neutroamine. You'll need 3 corpses, herbal medicine, and a longer while to spare. Grants 1x Neutroamine. Requires researching Medicine Production and a colonist with Intellectual 8.

- Secondary non-strip set of recipes
After one or two embarrassing incidents we won't talk about, few colonists refused to watch naked people during their work time. You can now choose to cremate corpse without undressing them. These options need slightly more time to properly burn everything.


But that's not all! Activities provided by Honest Corpse also slowly train your colonists' intellectual skill. Turns out watching dead people burning all day makes you think. That, and of course all the scientific button-pushing while operating the machinery.




FAQ
Q: Is this compatible with X?
A: Yes. With anything that doesn't remove the crematorium.

Q: Where should I put it in load order?
A: Somewhere warm and safe down the list. Below Dubs Bad Hygiene, when using both.

Q: Human body contains ~4 grams of iron. Instead, we get whole 5 kg of steel. How is that?
A: Look out, there's angry tentacled thing behind you! *proceeds to run*

Q: Do new options strip the corpse?
A: What? How did you catch up with me? Anyway, yes - if you want. To get rid of tainted apparel use secondary recipe set or stay with primary and recycle with MendAndRecycle. That's commendably honest mod.

Q: How big is intellectual gain?
A: Very small: learn factor is set for 0.25. It's not game breaking, but it is something. Your pawns will now contemplate about transience of life and death and - day by day - become better people. They'll read more, self-reflect and start building utopian community. And maybe, just maybe... One day they might stand up and seize the means of production! As they should!!! *proceeds to run again, laughing maniacally*




Major updates
01.05.2021 - Non-strip update
Secondary set of bills for each recipe. They burn the apparel in the process at the cost of slightly more work.

04.05.2021 - Funeral Rites update
Patch for Vanilla Factions Expanded - Vikings, that adds death rites to Funeral Pyre. This is meant mostly for tribal/medieval playthrough.

These rites can be a roleplay-friendly source of lye/Chemfuel, especially needed for Fire Bombs from Vanilla Weapons Expanded - Tribal.

Person conducting the rites is white-singing funeral songs, thus training artistic skill instead of intellectual.

Oh, I'm running a local copy for 1.5 myself, I doubt I run into issues.
But it is always nicer to have the 'official' mod being patched :) (mostly cause I'm lazy and not wanting to chase potential bugs)

What about making sure you can cremete (not the fancy get stuff cremete) with Campfires/non electric ways to do so?

I feel like acidify corpse should have a bit more required in the recipe, feels a bit 'cheap' to get a potential stack of neutro from one tribal raid at times

This seems to be making my crematoriums bug - just a black box when crem is clicked on, no commands
