Description
The Great Muta made several appearances in WCW in the late 80's and early 90's, feuding with Sting, Lex Luger, and Ric Flair. He defeated Sting for the NWA World Television Championship and held the title for a few months before dropping it to Arn Anderson.

Muta returned to NJPW in March 1990 and began climbing the ranks quickly. He became a star in the company, nearly winning the 1992 G1 for the vacant NWA World Heavyweight Title, and captured his first IWGP Heavyweight Championship shortly after.

After defeating Masahiro Chono at WCW/New Japan Supershow III, Muta held both the NWA World Heavyweight and IWGP Heavyweight titles, becoming the second man to hold both belts at the same time. He lost both belts later that year before returning to his Keiji Muto gimmick. The Great Muta gimmick has been revived multiple times since, notably as part of nWo Japan.
