Tungsten

Description
Adds tungsten as a new metal, which is better than uranium, but weaker than plasteel. Tungsten is very strong and resistant to heat, but heavy and very hard to work.
Recommended to refine into tungsten carbide before use, which can be used as a replacement for uranium and plasteel in some recipes.

Getting started
You can mine, find or trade for tungsten. You can make basic things out of tungsten, but it's far better to research 'tungsten carbide synthesis' and make it into tungsten carbide at an electric smelter, an even better material! For balance, it takes a very long time to craft anything out of tungsten, and even longer for carbide.

How do I make tungsten carbide?
Once you have done the research, you can craft it at an electric smelter with tungsten and wood, or tungsten and coal if you are using Coal Expanded, or Simple Coal. If you are using Coal Expanded, you can also use charcoal.

What can I do with it?
Tungsten is really strong, and has good piercing when used in turrets.
Apart from just the usual walls, turrets, and other things you use materials for, here are some things you can only do with tungsten carbide so far:

- Make a tungsten coilgun (extra research required)! It's even more powerful than a uranium slug turret!
- Make advanced components using tungsten carbide instead of plasteel! (also included - bulk [x5] advanced component crafting recipes for both the vanilla recipe and carbide)

Mod Compatibility
Coal Expanded
[WD] Simple Coal
If you are using either of these, the recipe has been changed to use coal instead of wood. If you were one of the lucky adopters when it was a separate mod, congrats! You don't need that any more.
VFE Mechanoids - Craftable Mechanoid Components - an alternate recipe to craft mechanoid components with tungsten carbide instead of uranium.
Glitter Tech - added alternative recipe to make magnetic coils from tungsten carbide instead of uranium.
Powerful Smelter and Extrematorium and Plasma Arc Smelter - can make tungsten carbide in these smelters.
Chemistry Tech
Mines
Expanded Materials Metals - The def name we use for tungsten is different, so there will be two tungstens. I will work on a compatibility to decide which one takes priority, or maybe rename one?

To-do
- compat with Expanded Materials Add-on - Ammunition Module
- compat with other mods that add tungsten ?

thank you!

I meant 10, of course. Fixed now, thanks!

I think it's only x10 but yeah it should work if you just divide the gold cost by 10 in the defs.

Okay, yep. I forgot to account for small items being multiplied by 100 in recipes. Let me fix that quickly...

Hmm, did something get changed in how small items work or did I make a typo?

@Hologast the bulk advanced component crafting recipe use 10x too much gold compared to the single crafting recipes.

Excellent response to user feedback, I wish I could like and favorite it again but I already did before.

Okay, now that I've finally published a smelter mod, the grace period is over and tungsten carbide is now craftable at smelters only. Thanks for your patience!

i just found it interesting that tungsten was the only metal out of the IRL metals in the vanilla game and this mod that couldn't be smelted in a crematorium
