Important Notes - Read This Stuff

When you start a new game on this map while 81 tiles is enabled, you must save the game, quit, and reload it.

You only have to save and reload it once when you first start a new game, it will fix the issue permanently.

This is because when you start a new game all 81 tiles are already purchased and the game logic doesn't handle it correctly. It's an apparent side effect of the way I made the map in game and then used ModTools to open the save inside the map editor. The game renders all networks inside the main 25 tile area as if they were in unowned tiles. In other words, they're not fully rendered, zoning squares are hidden, details are missing, and the terrain under them is wonky. I know it's a mild annoyance but there's nothing I can do unless somebody figures out a mod to unpurchase tiles. On the plus side, it only happens the very first time a game is started and all subsequent loads do not have this problem.

All the required assets can be found here. They're not listed on this page but you need these. Without them the map will probably not even load, or at least will not load properly. Edit 7/22 - Added a couple things I missed. Pretty sure it's good now.

Unlimited Trees with the slider on 8 (max) is required to load this map. Without the mod being set correctly it will not work.

For best results play with 81 tiles and disable edge fog. Details follow rivers/roads and such right to the edges. There’s some cool stuff that happens to lay in the outermost tiles and you don’t want them hidden in fog.

Rivers will occasionally see fluctuating water levels. It's from limitations of the game engine's water mechanics and how narrow the rivers had to be made to stay true to their real world counterparts. Because they're small by game standards I highly recommend using only inland water and sewage services like Block Services.

About
North Bend[en.wikipedia.org] sits at the feet of the Cascade Mountains 30 miles east of Seattle. It's known for being the real world setting of Twin Peaks. This map includes 1:1 scale terrain of North Bend and surrounding communities.

There are 1.92 million trees and 27,167 props.

Interstate 90 travels East/West across the map identical to the real version.

Rail lines are included mostly according to their historical routes. In the real world they have been decommissioned and turned into trails. The way they go through "downtown" is slightly different for the sake of connecting all the lines.

The original height map came from Terrain Party. All of the infrastructure and waterways were drawn using the Overlayer mod and images pulled from the Google Maps API to be as accurate as possible. You can find the exact map I used here[i.ibb.co].

I couldn't do every single cool landmark in the area without several times the prop limit, but there's still a handful to find. Snoqualmie Falls, Mt Si Trail, Rattlesnake Ridge, just to name a few.

Mods & Visual Settings
Mods:
- Unlimited Trees Mod (slider to 8)
- 81 Tiles
- Railway Replacer
- Adaptive Prop Visibility Distance
- Decal Prop Fix
- Daylight Classic
- Prop and Tree Anarchy

Assets:
Here's a collection to save some time subscribing. I tried to keep it from getting too excessive, but it's still a fair number of things.

Theme: NotSoRockyHills. It renders cliffs differently than most themes, and the ore texture is dirt that's been used for terrain detailing. Using other themes will probably not look good.

LUT: Relight Average is what I use in the screenshots, but I've been pleased with the look of others and this one is a bit subjective.

Cubemap: I'm using Chalk Quarry from Ronyx's HDRI Haven Cubemap Pack 2.

@jordanferrazza

Yeah it was probably something not being enabled, or not being set right. Not maxing out the Unlimited Trees slider or not enabling the roads used can definitely crash it or cause it to load as just a blank blue screen.

I downloaded the pack for it. It causes the game to crash to desktop so I unsubscribed from it. (I think I then realised I forgot to enable some mods or something)

For a minute there I thought you meant absolutely no roads

@Ceoofnz I'm not sure if this is the cause, but if you don't have the Decal Prop Fix mod you should grab that. It's required for some decals, and it slipped my mind to include in the collection. I added that.

Another thought I have is maybe this is what's going on for you? https://steamcommunity.com/app/255710/discussions/0/2251181585645327352/
