[WOTC] Resident Evil 3: Remake Jill Valentine STARS

9/3/2020 Update!

My first XCom Mod has now been updated to include facial animations! The hair socket issue has been resolved with another pass over, and some rigging issues have been resolved. I was also able to shave off some MB with no longer needed textures. Screenshots will be updated to showcase some of the changes. Thanks for sticking with me as I continue to learn & grow!

I will be updating my Known issues list as well, to show what has been fixed so far!


DISCLAIMER: This is my first XCom 2 Mod and as such is likely filled with issues that my testing hasn't come across. This is a Beta Release. So I'm putting known issues before features, polite feedback and solutions welcome!

Known issues include...
  • "The Thousand-Yard Stare" - Jill doesn't care if she missed that 95% chance-to-hit shot - she currently does not have facial expressiveness. This may be something I can pursue fixing, but there are lots of scaling and weight painting issues to solve. If anyone has advice or links to guides for facial rigging, I would appreciate it!

  • Initial equip of STARS Jill Hair (RE3) or STARS Jill Beret Hair (RE3) will have the placement be offset from the proper area on STARS Jill Face (RE3), but exiting the character customizing area after equipping it (whether in character pool or armory) will fix this placement.

  • On close inspection, Jill's Full hair isn't quite placed correctly in regards to the scalp area. This is a socket issue I've yet to solve without impacting the placement of the backup use of Jill's Beret Hair when Full Hair is equipped with the Beret.

  • Jill's head is not currently scaled to properly fit XCom upper & lower props.

  • Inconsistent emissive shine on arms & clothes on squad selections for missions.

  • Possible lightmap issue in hair rendering.

Features:
  • Default Jill STARS gear -- Female Only -- you may find these under names like "STARS Jill Torso (RE3)"

  • STARS Jill Head, now properly scaled and weighted for face animations! It can be equipped with either animated Full Hair or Beret+animated Partial Hair. Keep in mind that Equipping Full Hair will automatically update to the Partial Hair should you equip the Beret! [Beret listed under Helmets, Hair options listed under Hair]

  • Tintable Jill STARS gear--featuring color options for the shirt, pants, and beret. (Shirt = Primary Armor Color, Pants/Beret = Secondary Armor Color).

Claire is 90% done :) just have to test through most animations in-game, grab screenshots, make the preview, etc.

Weapon pack #2 is on hold for a bit, most of my time has been spent focusing on a special animation project - don't want to spoil the surprise for most people. :)

Also RE: Infinite Darkness looks gorgeous! Love Claire's new, yet familiar look in it. :D

I don't mean to rush you, just curious how are Claire and weapon pack 2 progressing, because Capcom just announced Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness :steamhappy:

Really good face model. Don't have much use for the clothing as I'm mostly running a Mass Effect themed roster but a couple of those armors hide the chest area without clipping and a couple of extra hair styles also fit. Awesome! Thank you very much for this. :)

STARS Jill has quite a few more extra bits + attachments that require more texture maps than Carlos does, plus detail texture maps, not to mention 2 types of hair models (that use different textures). ATM I don't have plans to reduce texture quality.

If this changes, i'll update the post + changelog, though. :)

Is it possible to reduce the size of the file as Carlo's is only half the size? The main reason I am asking is I usually have between 400 to 500 mods activated.
