Alabama Express - Face

Many people thought Darryl Jenkins was going to be a heavyweight boxing champion. He was on his way to getting a title shot, but it never materialized. Eventually, it came out that Jenkins promoter was accepting bribes to keep him away from a championship fight. After hearing about a new wrestling promotion from local celebrity and friend, Big Bama Ray, he contacted promoter, Jeff Gorham, to express interest.

Jenkins made his debut on June 4th, 2019, at PCP's first event, the Battle of Mobile Bay. In his first match he broke his opponent's nose, showing how effective his boxing could be. He then went on to win two more matches, winning the BOMB tournament, and becoming the first PCP Heavyweight Champion. He exceeded everyone's expectations that night, and cemented himself as the top dog in the promotion.

He kept proving that he's not to be underestimated, as he fended off the challengers put before him. When waiting for new challengers to step up, he teamed with Big Bama Ray, forming the Alabama Express, though both men are mainly focused on their singles careers. He would go on to defend the title four times over a nine month period, setting a standard that might not ever be matched in the promotion.

On February 25th, 2020, the unthinkable happened, he was submitted by King Felix III, and the reign of Jenkins had come to an end. He could have walked away as a PCP legend, but like a true competitor, he wanted to be champion again. While he was training for a title rematch, King Felix lost the title to Rampage Hunter, a man Jenkins had beat before. He failed to recapture the title against Rampage Hunter, and is now in a spot that he hasn't been familiar with in pro wrestling.

Jenkins changed his training regimen, losing twenty pounds, and says he's going back to what he knows best, boxing. He was trying to be a wrestler who could box, instead of a boxer who can do a few wrestling moves. He's also talked about wanting to get more involved in shoot style wrestling, and even has plans to start a stand up combat league. Can he return to the top of the pro wrestling mountain, or will the allure of shoot fighting lead him down a different path?
