1.5 version
Simple Recycling
MOD author : Arvkus

This mod is an updated version of "Simple Recycling" made by Lanilor to 1.4. All rights to this mod are with Lanilorand I am responsible for all issues that arise with this 1.4 version. If you have any problems, please report them on this mod's workshop page.

Special measures for v1.5.x :
In RimWorld v1.5, Smelting is now limited to metal. For this reason, it is no longer possible to recycle clothing into the materials it was made from with xml files prior to v1.4.

For this reason, I took special measures for v1.5. Added a patch that forces all non-metal craftable apparel added in Core and 3 types of DLC to be recycled into cloth. All tribal apparel (tribalwear and veils) will be plainleather. It's a shame that I can't recycle to the original material, but please bear with me until I can come up with a better solution.

Description :
Simple Recyclning

A simple mod that adds recycling of apparel in the same way weapons are smeltable in the core version.

- Added recycle apparel bill to Crafting Spot (only "Lost Tribe" start).
No need resarch, but work speed was slow. Supports the neolithic tech age.

To recycle apparel, research "apparel recycling" and then add the bill to a tailoring workbench.
Note: Recycling work required minimum crafting skill is level 6.

Compatibility :
for RimWorld 1.4/1.5.x.
Added processing and patches to fix problems that could not be researched due to the industrial tech level of mods in the medieval ages. Currently, it is possible to recycle apparels with the following medieval mods.

Medieval Times Unofficial Update (1.3)
Vanilla Factions Expanded - Medieval (1.3)
MendAndRecycle (1.3)
Micro Designations (1.4)
Medieval Overhaul(1.4)

If you have Micro Designations enabled in your mod list, clicking on the item you want to recycle in-game will reveal a corresponding "recycle at workbench" button. This is available for both Tribal Start and Normal Start.

Notes :
Due to the patch included in Micro Designations, the following red error is recorded when starting the game, but it does not affect gameplay.

Could not find a type named MendAndRecycle.RecipeWorkerWithJob_Recycle UnityEngine.StackTraceUtility:ExtractStackTrace ()

The cause is that the Mod confirmation method of the patch of the code that calls the MendAndRecycle dll is determined by defName instead of the Mod name, so it is an error.

I would like to thank g0ldheart_rr and pgames-food for suggesting this idea.

Thank you for this! Have you been able to figure out the Mend/Repair function?

Hello Arvkus.
Thank you for the announcement.

I am grateful to all users who have used this mod. I'm sorry that I couldn't find a simple solution, but I found someone who inherited this mod, and I was relieved that the users would not have any problems.

Thank you a lot.

Here's the new version of the mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3239309389

C# should handle all the cases and I don't think XML patching is necessary anymore. Some changes:
No longer possible to recycle smeltable apparel (just use smelter).
Reduced recycle efficiency from 30% to 25% to be the same as smelting.
Reduced research tech level from Industrial to Medieval (there's no reason to keep it at industrial and helps to avoid patching for medieval mods).
Dropped support for 1.0-1.4 versions (I don't realy want to maintain older versions).

I'll try to fiddle around with other mods and try to find any potential issues before release, until then, the mod will be unlisted (suggestions and feedback appreciated)

@Arkvus Really looking forward to that fork. not much of a fan of recycling if i'm basically just "burning" the apparel

Alright, I'll create a new workshop item, but that's going to be few weeks later, I still want to add more improvements to the mod and properly test it.

If you publish a fork version at a workshop, I would like to add a link and instructions to this page. Thank you.

Hello Arvkus. Thank you for fork version.

Is it okay if I request that you be published as a workshop item as a folk work of the 1.5 version of Simple Recycle? Since I am unable to maintain the assembly myself, I think it is preferable for you to manage it yourself.

I understand that creating and updating workshops is a hassle for you, but I would appreciate it if you could.

@Proxyer
Here's a mod version with C# patching, unfortunaly I couldn't do It without Harmony (Harmony dependency is not yet included)
If apparel is smeltable then smelting products are returned, otherwise - 30% of the original material.

I'll try to make custom ingridient filter to include Neolithic apparel only for NeolithicRecycleApparel.
