Description
This scenario is SINGLE PLAYER only!

BACKGROUND

About a year ago an infectious disease, The White Plague, took over the world, killing women and turning men to zombies... all but those lucky one percent of world population who were naturally resistant to The Plague. You were part of IDAP detachment in Livonia. After The Plague got there, everything collapsed: government, police, IDAP, civil society... all gone. You were taken as prisoner by some bandits and sold into slavery.

This mission starts when one rainy afternoon the man who bought you gets really drunk and forgets to lock your cage door. You wait for him to fall asleep and then make your move...

SCENARIO FEATURES

ENDGAME!
Although this scenario is designed as a sandbox, there is a 'main mission': get away from Livonia... which is surrounded with minefields on all sides! There will be MORE THAN ONE ways to get past the mines...and they will NOT be fast or easy to find.

SKILLS!
You can acquire seven different skills to enhance your capabilities:

- RADIATION DETECTION: there are some places with radiation. This skill helps you detect radiation without geiger counter...

- TACTICAL AWARENESS: you start the scenario with 3rd person view disabled, but this skill 'unlocks' it...

- ORIENTEERING: at the beginning the map icons are disabled... meaning you wont see yourself in the map, but with this skill you can see your position anytime.

- TRANSFORMATIVE LEADERSHIP: increases the overall skill level of all recruitable AI units.

- MEDITATION: You start with ARMA time acceleration (2x and 4x) disabled... but skill enables it, making those long marches around Livonia a bit faster...

- ANCIENT BREATHING TECHNIQUE: disables stamina...

- TIME TRAVEL: you start the scenario with limited game saving, but with this skill you can save game anywhere, anytime...

You'll get the skills for example from certain AI units, from working laptops, by completing quests, by paying someone... finding intel will help!

QUESTS!
There are few unmarked (not 'tasked') missions you may or may not find/launch. They usually have good rewards...

PUZZLES / PROBLEM SOLVING!
There will be some situations like this... if you ever find them

ZOMBIES!
Those pesky little buggers are everywhere... not in too large numbers, though. Feel free to comment if you feel there are too many or too few!

CUSTOM BASES AND CAMPS!
Friendly trader bases! Bandit bases, which you can 'capture' (by killing all inhabitants)! Abandoned bases, which you can also 'capture'! Bandit patrol camps! Abandoned & broken vehicles with good loot!

INTEL!
Most bases and patrol camps have some kind of intel... but you can't take them with you, so make notes in your map about important information...

CUSTOM SERVICES IN TRADER BASES!
You can expect to find not only traders but also doctors, vehicles for sale, recruitable units, places to re-arm or re-fuel vehicles if you got money... every trader base is different. All trading is through mouse wheel menu...

CUSTOM WEAPONS POOL!
A handpicked list of weapons you can find. They are also added to trader lists, so basicly every weapon out there can be sold or bought... with VERY few exceptions.

CUSTOM TRADER LISTS!
All the stuff the traders sell or buy is handpicked... the traders have brochures in which they explain what items they will buy or sell. These lists are a bit different from your 'vanilla' Ravage trade item lists... especially for the gear traders, who trade with weapon sights, NVG's, suppressors... stuff like that

CUSTOM SAVE SYSTEM!
At the beginning of the mission, you can only save your game in bases... there is a room or an area in every base in which you can save your game... Even in bandit bases, after you have 'captured' it. If a base has A BLUE FLAG, there is a place in it you can save game in. There is about 30 'save game' – places scattered around Livonia...

About this... it is
VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW
that if you EXIT the mission WHILE SAVING IS DISABLED, you will lose all save files... SO EXIT MISSION ONLY IN BASES / SAVE AREAS, when the exit option in ESC menu is SAVE & EXIT, not ABORT or END! I know this s*cks, but at the moment I don't know how to change this... I'm working on this matter, but it might be unsolvable...

RECRUITABLE UNITS!
These can be found in trader bases, and are for hire... if you can pay them! There are THREE CLASSES of them:

- former POLICE (with pretty low skill level and poor gear... but they are cheap!)
- former SOLDIER (with medium skill level and decent gear... more expensive to hire than former cops!)
- former SPEC OPS SOLDIER (with high skill level and quality gear... and one mighty price!)

Note: every recruit has some information for you, if you hire them. Also, they have limited ammunition, so take care of them or they will run out of ammo. Yes, we all know that the AI units are not that big of a help in combat, but if nothing else you can use them as stuff bearers or cannon fodder to distract bandits... and you can dismiss a recruited unit anytime you want.

RANDOM SPAWNING AI BANDITS!
All the bandits in camps and bases are handplaced... but there are also randomly spawning AI bandit patrols all around Livonia. No friendly patrols out there... so if you see anyone outside the friendly bases, feel free to light them the f*ck up...

MUSIC!
Scattered around Livonia in different bases you can find BOOMBOXES, these stereo machines, each with one song in it which you can play through wheel menu... there will be lots of them, hence the large scenario file size.

VEHICLES!
Some you can buy, some you'll have to kill for, some are just broken, some are missing keys... it will not be easy to get a working vehicle, but there are some around. Also some boats out there.

RAVAGE SURVIVAL SYSTEM!
You need to eat and drink, you can sleep in beds/tents and so on...

RADIATION!
No random radiation spots, just a few handplaced. The rain is not radioactive, but rivers/lakes and some consumables are... There never was any nuclear detonation in Livonia, the radiation there has another source... which you might or might not find out.

MONEY!
Money has an important role in this scenario, it is not just something to make fire with... You'll find some in bandit bases, both in their pockets and in crates... Some quests reward you with notable sums, and of course you can sell loot to get some cash...

FOG REMOVAL!
My old nemesis, THE FOG, might appear... meaning sometimes this weird fog can arise, which only gets thicker and thicker, until you cant see anything, and it doesn't go away... but no worries! Just hit RADIO CODE 0-0-1 and the fog will disappear...

MODS

You will of course need ALL the mods listed on the right... but you can ALSO use:

- ENHANCED MOVEMENT (lets you climb on some roofs and over walls and such... handy when dealing with lots of
zombies)

- ENHANCED ARMA 3 INVENTORY (mainly because this gives you a working magazine re-pack feature)

- BLOODLUST (adds some blood and such...)

MISC

A big ol' THANK YOU to everyone making the mods I used! I really wouldn't be able to create these missions with vanilla stuff, no way...

Another THANK YOU for all the folks helping me out with scripting in forums and such!

A SPECIAL THANK YOU to HALEKS! I think Ravage is my all-time favourite Arma mod... by far!

Same for me, cannot use CIA hideout keyboard, no suicide note, seems to be linked to any script that requires you to look at an object and choose a menu action. Just ruined the game for me, and it doesn't look like the author is supporting his work anymore.:steamthumbsdown:

Restarted a new game, with just the basic mods as suggested, there still isnt a suicide note :(

Wow just saw your mod and I absolutely love the concept of actually having some kind of character progression which is a very great bonus for completing missions. Very creative!

Night Time is too long in the beginning. No watch to keep track of time in beginning either

@Heffers: Those crashes happen sometimes in Arma 3 with any mission but there is a trick to have saves again: after the crash go to arma 3 savegame folder in "documents/arma3/saved/steam/mission folder you are playing", select a savegame and rename it in "continue.arma3Save" and you'll can continue your game!

1 of the best Ravage missions I've played. Some 20+hrs in and Arma crashed. Now I have no RESUME option. Absolutely gutted. I can't start again, I had found a way out, had 17 bases captured, multiple camps taken & cleared 60+% of all towns. But Arma killed me. Grrrrrrrr

Was there an answer to JBS1949s question please Mauseri: I finally get to Sowa Hill, and there's no note.The nephews won't talk to me until I find the note. Is there any way to FORCE the note to appear - Thank you in advance :steamthumbsup:
