A Pride Grand Prix Champion and UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Maurico "Shogun" Rua's technical Muay Thai based striking and physical athleticism have kept him on an elite tier for the better part of two decades. Shogun's diving punches and flying face stomps met any foe unfortunate enough to hit the ground against him in Pride, and while injuries slowed him down in his UFC run, Shogun made up for it with his heavy punches and solid technique. His fights with Antonio Rogerio Nogueria, Lyoto Machida and Forrest Griffin all stand out in his resume, along with violent knockouts of Rampage Jackson and Alistair Overeem.
