A citizen of both Cameroon and France, Carlos Takam has served as a gatekeeper and a contender for the last decade in the Heavyweight division. His competent skills and solid combinations have kept him in the mix as a legit opponent for those who want to take a shot at the top.

Born in Littoral, Cameroon in 1980, Takam medaled in multiple African tournaments and competed in the 2004 Olympic Games. He turned professional in 2005, fighting out of France and defeating older versions of Francois Botha, Michael Grant and Tony Thompson. A loss to Alexander Povetkin followed as did defeats to Jospeh Parker and Dereck Chisora, and a title challenge against Anthony Joshua fell short.
