Different mods have been made over time in order to change and/or improve render processing in the game. This includes mods for both pre- and post-processing techniques and effects. Render It! combines several of these techniques and effects.

Lighting
Most aspect of lighting is managed by the theme but the quality of shadows can be changed in Render It! together with intensity, shadow strength and shadow bias of sun & moon. The wave lengths of red, green and blue colors in the sky can be changed as well and and also sky rayleigh scattering, mie scattering and exposure if Theme Mixer is not enabled.

Colors
Colors of directional light from the sun & moon and ambient light generated from above, sides and below terrain, buildings, roads and such are gradient in the game - that means they change gradually during the day. Both Daylight Classic, Softer Shadows and Relight gives you some static and/or abstracted options to change these but in Render It! you can change all the specific gradient light colors exactly how you want it.

Textures
Render It! include options to change the sharpness of textures in terms of anisotropic filtering level and mip map bias. The anisotropic filtering level makes texture look better when viewed at a shallow angle while mip map bias sharpens or blurs the texture.

Environment
Fog (and clouds) can be changed by Render It! Both static and dynamic fog are supported - also known as classic and day/night fog.

Post-processing
For anti-aliasing - in human language soften jaggy edges - Render It! have further support for FXAA and TAA. It is based on the latest version of Post Processing Stack v1 for Unity. You can see a comparison of the different techniques here[imgsli.com].

Render It! also includes the options to enable Ambient Occlusion, Bloom and Color Grading post-processing effects.

It is important to mention that none of the post processing effects are directly affected by time of day. They are time-independent.

See example of Ambient Occlusion here[imgsli.com], Bloom here[imgsli.com] and Color Grading here[imgsli.com].

Management
All settings are saved in profiles and you can manage multiple profiles and easily switch between them in-game. Profiles can also be imported and exported either directly through YAML-format or through files stored on your disk drive. Render It! will also automatically detect all files containing profiles (extension: *.renderit) published and subscribed through the Steam Workshop. This means map theme or color correction creators can easily publish a profile for Render It! together with their specific map theme or color correction and subscribers can easily import the profile into their own game.

Your own exported profiles are saved in a "Profiles"-folder in your Cities: Skylines root-directory.

Thank you to the amazing modding community and especially SamsamTS, TPB, boformer and BloodyPenguin for releasing the source code of their great mods so we can all be inspired.

Instructions
Subscribe to the mod and in-game click button to open main panel. Here you can swap between profiles with settings for lighting, colors, textures, environment and post-processing effects such as anti-aliasing, ambient occlusion, bloom and color grading.

Chamëleon TBN has made a very readable and easy-to-understand guide in terms of Render It! and Play It! with lots of samples as well. You can find the guide here:

Render It! and Play It! - A basic guide[docs.google.com]

This also includes some basic sample profiles which can be subscribed here:

Render It! Presets Collection 1

Use the built-in import functionality to use sample profiles.

Compatibility
This mod does use patching technique with the Harmony library[github.com] provided by the Harmony dependency mod and also uses a compiled but unchanged version of Post Processing Stack v1 for Unity[github.com] together with the different shaders included with this. For the import/export functionality it uses the YamlDotNet library[github.com]. It does however not alter game save files in any way and can be disabled or unsubscribed safely at any time.

You should not use Shadow Strength Adjuster, Sharp Textures and PostProcessFX since functionality is included and enhanced in Render It!

You cannot use Daylight Classic, Softer Shadows and Relight if you want to adjust directional and ambient light colors in Render It! since this is overlapping functionality and enhanced in Render It! Read this discussion Daylight Classic, Softer Shadows and Relight on how to replicate Softer Shadows, Daylight Classic and Relight in Render It!

You cannot use Fog Controller, Clouds & Fog Toggler and Daylight Classic if you want to adjust fog in Render It! since this is overlapping functionality and enhanced in Render It!

@Snowwie This mod still has several features Lumina lacks.

The Lumina mod is also giving a lot of these options, even together with Theme Mixer 2.5
So, you have "Render it","Theme Mixer 2.5" and "Lumina", which is best to keep?

Ignore my comment. Once I created a profile other than "default" it is saving the settings. :steamhappy:

My settings are not being saved between sessions. I have reviewed the conflict list along with Skyve, and I see no disruptors. Any ideas?

Using this mod gives me "object reference not set to an instance of an object [system.nullreferenceexception]". I have removed multiple mods, and this was the only one that removing it fixed that problem.

@FairyKomet thank。按你的方法终于解决了建筑物阴面太黑看不清的问题。

The Color grading Neutral sliders uses UNITY 2017.4 Post-Processing stack V1 color grading, if anyone is interested to know what these sliders do

For some reason, the button for both Render It! and Play It! disable themselves. I can't figure out why, or how to re-enable the buttons. The buttons are there, but greyed out. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes the menu only works once.
