Description
Link, of The Legend of Zelda fame.

Link is a seasoned adventurer, and well equipped for whatever may come his way in the wilderness. His experience has jaded him to the point of sanity being a non-issue. He'll fight a king of nightmare-beasts before breakfast, and not even blink at it.

He is used to living off what's available, and has developed a strong stomach.

Compared to the average character, Link is faster, stronger, and tougher. However, he has a smaller stomach, and faster hunger rate - running around, and fighting like that burns off the calories much faster! Link is perhaps best played as a hunter - hunt, kill, and eat monsters to stay alive. Or, failing monsters… adorable, harmless little bunnies. You monster.

Link brings a number of Hero's Items with him on his adventure.

All Hero's Items are unbreakable, and uncraftable. So don't lose them!

WOULD YOU PREFER THE 'HERO' ITEMS TO HAVE THE NAMES USED IN OCARINA OF TIME?

*Can you port this to Don't Starve Together?

Unfortunately, no. I just don't have time to work on this.
You're welcome to attempt it yourself.


*Is it DLC compatible?

RoG, yes. And it does have upgrades for DLC mechanics - the Red Tunic will save you from summer heat, while the Blue will function as a raincoat.
Shipwrecked will crash on World Generation sometimes, and always causes issues with the Coconade. It could probably be fixed with a rewrite of the Bomb code, but I think I just have to call it incompatible with Shipwrecked.


*Where did my fairy go?

The fairy is buggy. Regrettably so. She is at present unable to enter Wormholes, and has a nast habit of getting stuck on the environment. You can get her back if you retrace your steps.


*This doesn't work with RPG HUD!

Actually, it does. I even recommend it for best experience.
It does not, however, work with RPG HUD Neat - you must use the RPG HUD Default version.
I believe this is because of Link's added Magic Meter, and removed Sanity.
Alas, I cannot do anything to fix this, so all I can tell you is to use the Default version instead. Pair it with Always-On Status, for best results.


*Are you still working on this?

This is a project I love and am proud of, but I don't have time to dedicate to this.

Removed items that had no function implemented. (No more rupees, arrows, or Nayru's Love.)

In case grimStone's comment gets deleted:

I found the bug where the Fairy won't follow through the wormhole nor Forora's Wind.

The Fairy is never properly assigned as a follower to the player, so the code that handles transporting followers wasn't triggering.

How to fix:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dont_starve\mods\workshop-179124884\scripts\prefabs\fairy.lua

Open the file with a text editor.
Add the following underneath the inst:AddComponent("follower") line.

local player = GetPlayer()
if player and player.components.leader then
player.components.leader:AddFollower(inst)
end


Then save.

I found the bug that causes the crash when cutting grass.

When you cut the grass with the sword originally there was a chance to have a rupee, a magic jar, and/or a heart drop. At some point the magic jar and heart were removed but the chance for those items to drop was left in the code.

If the code tries to drop the jar or heart then the failure occurs because it then passes a "nil" value into the code that gives the player the items.

How to fix:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dont_starve\mods\workshop-179124884\sword_cut_grass.lua

Open the file with a text editor. Comment out lines 65-80 inside the cutWithSwordFn function then save. (add -- in front of each line)

Rupees will also not drop anymore to keep the fix simple for most folks.
This disables the function, but it doesn't have a benefit to the player at this time.

Me, when I first start with this mod: this is WAYYYY too overpowered!

Me, 10 minutes in unable to do anything without starving: this is WAYYYY too underpowered!

So I'm guessing adventure mode is pretty much impossible as Link since going insane is a requirement on some levels. Hmm... I wonder if there would be a way to change the sanity portion so that he gets some drop in sanity.
