Description
Era - 1960s / 1970s - Boxing - Lightweight

The Untouchable Nicolino Locche did not look like one of the slickest boxers in history at first glance. A chain smoking, balding Argentinian who seemed to waltz around the ring as lackadaisically as a man on a Sunday stroll through the park, Locche also could make punches miss with almost preternatural ability, ducking and dodging by milimeters and making his foes look like fools for daring to lay a glove on him.

Born in Tunuyan, Argentina, Locche won over a hundred amateur bouts before turning pro in 1958. By 1961, Locche had picked up multiple regional titles, and in 1968, made Light Welterweight champ Paul Fuji quit between rounds, a moment that would be echoed decades later by Vasyl Lomachenko's multiple "No-Mas-Chenko" victories.

Defending his title multiple times, Locche eventually lost in 1972 against Alfonso Frazier and went 1-1 against fellow great Antonio Cervantes.
