Many people thought Darrly Jenkins was going to be a heavyweight boxing champion. He was on track to get a title shot, but it never materialized. Eventually, it came out that Jenkin's promoter was accepting bribes to keep him away from a championship fight. After hearing from local celebrity and friend, Ray Coker, about a new wrestling promotion being started, Jenkins contacted promoter, Jeff Gorham, to express interest. Jenkins isn't naive, and knows wrestling has its share of bs politics, but at least he can get a fight now.
