Kofi Kingston (NJPW + Jr. Heavyweight DLC)

Up until recently, Kofi was best known as one-third of the world famous tag team champs, The New Day, and a multi-time Intercontinental and United States champion.

After Mustafa Ali went down with an injury leading up to Elimination Chamber in early 2019, Kofi was entered into the WWE Title Chamber match. Kofi lasted until the very end, losing to WWE Champion Daniel Bryan after an incredible effort. Fans began believing in Kofi as a main eventer, and Kofimania was born.

Kofi and the New Day began campaigning for a WWE Title shot and were granted one for Fastlane, only for that shot to be taken away. The New Day persisted, and leading up to WrestleMania 35, despite the best efforts of Vince McMahon, earned Kofi a title shot after winning a tag team gauntlet match against the best Smackdown had to offer.

At WrestleMania 35, Kofi overcame Bryan to win his first WWE Championship after 11 years in the company.
