Daughter of a former joshi champion and a wealthy tech mogul, Rei Hasegawa knew she was going to be a professional wrestler from as early as she could walk. She also knew her place in life was to ascend above the middling masses, and was destined for greatness.

Hasegawa felt that Lightning Pro, with its rapidly growing foreign reach, would be a solid starting point for her career, and went through the L-Pro Dojo with relative ease...a career trajectory that may well have been influenced by a bit of behind the scenes dealings. In any case, she emerged after a year of training, ready to face the world...but would the world be ready for White Hot Hasegawa?

As it was, Rei ended up finding that all her wealth, beauty and societal standing may have earned her a pair of dedicated followers, her in-house fan club, Rei's Sparks, Yuki Okamura and Saburo Aoki Jr, but it didn't produce her wins. A long stint in Phoenix Rising's Blackwood Academy would reluctantly come next, and while Rei disdainfully approached the experience, over time, her friendship with the Academy's Keiko Maeda would grow, with the two both pushing each other to improve and making an exceptional tag team along the way.

Rei Hasegawa is still haughty at the best of times and still finds trouble remembering how well she's always had it. But the Rei Hasegawa that now competes is one who has learned the value of hard work, on learning to humble herself and knowing that everything in the ring has to be earned. Just don't ask her to admit to any of that...
