Description
Hi, BonBon here,

I'm best known as the guy who reviews other people's maps in a little YouTube show we call What Map. If you haven't stopped by check me out at www.YouTube.com/BonBonB

Thank you for choosing Saint Catherine's Point

Remember to RATE and FAVOURITE, Thanks for your support!

There is a one click collection above with everything you need for this map. The map is quite intensive and so isn't suited to weaker computers.

Tree Count – 197,434
Prop Count – 11,769

I've not included the mods in the collection, these are listed below with the setting you will need to match the screenshots.

PC LOW SPEC ADVICE
If you are running a low spec computer only subscribe to the items listed on the right: the Ultra Low Tri Trees set and the Springwood Map Theme. You might also want the bridges and rocks in the collection above, but I'll leave this to you, along with your own preferred choice of LUT. If you don't subscribe to the bridges you'll probably want to rebuild these in vanilla.

This map has:

Three highway connections
Three possible locations for harbours (mainland, island's natural harbour, west coast of secondry island)
Two rail connections on the edge of the map
Two air routes
Is ideal for use with TPB's Tides mod
Oil reserves are mostly below sea level, with some accessible on land
Two locations for ore, on in the 25 tiles, one on the edge of map.
Fertile land on the two main islands
A castle on the hill
A submerged village, which is revealed at low tide
An East facing henge for sunrise screenshots
A flower shield tribute to St Catherine
Three highway intersections custom built by myself to meet the map's needs
The main intersection is Moseltal from Agusingnavy - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=779007671

Tides Mod

Range 8
Speed 0.1 (for one full tide rotation every 35 minutes)
When the map launches and before you enable the tides, go the the beach with the cliff in the start square. There you will find one rock on the beach. This is the high tide marker. If the sea level is incorrectly set use the water tool in More Beautification https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=505480567 to gently adjust the sea level. It doesn't need to be 100% accurate, just as close as is possible. Be very careful and a heavy over adjustment might destroy the stone causeway bridge. You have been warned

I have this set to 'None', but you can safely use your own preferences

Other visual settings mods such as Sun Shafts will add to the maps beautification, but I didn't use them for the images above.

The temple in the castle, and the church in the estuary will both generate garbage/crime/fires etc. It is highly recommended you use your preferred mod to control these, else delete the assets completely.

I've left in one deliberate tiny error for you to find. It wouldn't be right not to :-D

A quick shout out to all the asset, theme, mod and LUT creators without whom this map would be very dull indeed. Be sure to rate up their work when you subscribe.

Hello Mr B, I've just had a good read about the map, it may be a little bit out of my 'league' as I've only been on the game since winter time and I was never bought up on computers, they weren't around then! Can you advise another map, something with some running water in it and inspiring? Thanks, I like to read your youtube lectures there the only ones where it's not all rushed. Maggie

Hey Mr Monday, thanks for the feedback. Sorry for the all little problems you've encountered, lots to reply to :-)

1. Madelline. This is the main temple building in the castle. It's been showing as a duplicate since launch. I've tried removing and re-adding, but it still shows as a duplicate... so you are right, I think we are stuck with this. It will be disconnected from the city so you'll need Hide It to lose the garbage piling up and constant warning signs.
BonBonB  [author] Jan 29, 2020 @ 8:57am
2. Abandoned 2. I'm guilty of this. For the flooded village I created and uploaded some vanilla abandoned buildings with the trees removed, and then dumbly used the local file in the map build. I keep meaning to go back and update this, but life and YouTube always get in the way. It's been well over a year and I haven't got close to starting on a new map. All I can suggest is adding these manually from the one-click collection.

3. Dry Stone Wall. I honestly don't remember using this, but obviously I must have. Check the loading screen mod report for the link to the original asset. If the asset is missing from there then the creator must have removed the item from the workshop.
BonBonB  [author] Jan 29, 2020 @ 8:57am
4. Tunnel entrances. I don't recall using any custom tunnel entrances so I can only assume you haven't unlocked the tiles where the tunnels are located. The game only renders tunnels once the tiles are unlocked.

5. Bridge flooding. I scoured the workshop for the 'perfect stone bridge' pillars. The best I could find is the one I've used. It is however technically a park, and parks don't like being under water. Sadly the only cures are to accept the flooding warnings, hide the flooding warnings, or to remove them altogether and replace with pillars to your own liking.

Hope this all helps. Next time I make a map I'll definitely keep it more generic to help prevent some of these custom asset issues.
Mr. Monday Jan 28, 2020 @ 7:16pm
When I load the map I get messages saying that "Madeline Sub 1" is a duplicate, and "Adandoned 2" and "drystone wall network" are both missing. Not sure what can be done about the duplicate, but are there links to the two that are missing?

The tunnel entrances seem to be missing for me. I see the highways going to the hill just fine, and the road is clearly there in traffic view mode, but the ground is covering the spots where the tunnels should be. Am I missing an asset that was accidently left out of the collection?

Lastly is there another way of dealing with the flooding icons on the bridges other than the Hide It mod? I'd rather not have to use that mod as I'm sure hiding the flood warnings will cause issues when parts of my city end up flooding and I'm wanting to be warned about it.

I see! Thank you for clarifying. Beautiful work and an awesome YT channel. Thx!

Hey David,

Gladly, though it isn't directly relevant. I'm running an i7 with 32Gb RAM, but you don't need anything like this high to play any map on the workshop.

My concern was for players on minimum specs, who have literally no room for workshop items, those with only 4Gb of RAM. They don't need the theme mixer etc, just one theme and a tree set. Sure the map won't be as pretty, but it will still look good.
