All my ingame object are about the same size as the originals.
The terrains are at 512x512 pixels. This is the default size for terrains in AoE2. In case larger images are used, they get reduced to that size ingame - so you have a little more quality from the initial image - but not that noticable it is worth the larger file size I think.
Performance isn't that much an issue as it was in the beginning where such mods could really slow you down though.
You get changed visuals for the terrains, gold, stone and cliffs.

In case you still have a problem, did you check your load order? Is the mod activated and a higher priority than other terrain mods?
