Space Visualizer

Description
tl:dr for all you lazy guys ^^ : you can always go back to the old wallpaper version. Select "Off" in the drop down menu called "New Version"

Update 10.04.2020:

"This is the planet Haevis 6 in the outer rim of the Yotun system. The fate of this once promising candidate for colonization started to unfold millions of years ago when his nearest neighbor begun to heat up slowly. Over time the rising core temperature transfered this once friendly rock giant into a ravenous monster, spitting venom in the form of hot lava eruptions and toxic gases into the cold void of space. This tragic event slowly turned Haevis 6 into a boiling hothouse, poisoned the atmosphere and turned the once clean oceans and rivers into pure acid, destroying the smallest traces of life before it could even start to blossom.

Now abandoned by all space travelling races in the galaxy as a hopeless case he sits silently, awaiting the same inevitable fate his neighbor once suffered."

Hey guys,

this is a reworked version of my most subscribed wallpaper, the Space Visualizer. The original version was from back then when i had no idea of what i can do with the WE editor. So it was time to create a modern version of this popular wallpaper.

I picked up my initial idea of a hot, boiling lava planet because i like that kind of stuff and started to design a handfull of planets in my 3D tool and picked the ones i like best. To put stuff in motion i created a lot of different lava eruptions using the new Mantaflow fluid simulation in Blender 2.82 and many different particle systems in Wallpaper Engine.

I also wanted to achieve the impression of a really huge scale for the lava planet so i slowed things down on the surface because if you want to fake a huge scale everything has to happen in super slowmo. Finally i added some spacey tunes to raise the drama. :-)

Now for the most important part: i´am well aware that not all of the nearly 110k subscribers may like the new look for the Space Visualizer so i added an option to go back to the old version with only a few small modifications which fits the old scene pretty well imho. Just choose "Off" in the "New Version" drop down menu in the settings for the wallpaper and your good to go "old school" again. ;-)

So i hope you like the new version as much as the old one. Have fun, stay safe and see you around for the next wallpaper.

Cheers,

Chris

Thank you. Actually it's nice to hear some good words about this wallpaper after most people seem to have a lot of hatred for it since I did some major changes.

btw: if you want to save some money on heating in winter and use your GPU instead you should try my "Mechanical Sun" wallpaper :lunar2020playfuldog::lunar2019laughingpig:

Nope, that is not possible at the moment. The playlist in the wallpaper plays the song from the first track to the last and then repeats. There is no functionality in Wallpaper Engine that let´s the user choose the track.

Maybe that is possible with some scripting, but i´m not exactly sure because i´m no coder so i do not know exactly. I´ll have to try it out and see if it works. ^^
