Report a translation problem
Most of the time a black screen is caused by faulty gfx card drivers. A clean reinstall might help here. You could also check out the Wallpaper Engine FAQ about such behaviour. It is aimed at video wallpapers but maybe some info there might help solving your problem too.

It might help if you disable the new animations in the setting for the wallpaper.
Didn´t had the time to check out patreon or other stuff but a humble bundle gift code seems also nice.

The good news is that in a first step I replaced the forest on the island with the castle with a new one. I fired up Blender, let some trees grow an thanks to heavy shape key animations we got a new forest. Now seeing the trees sway in the wind looks cozy, i like it. Have to get some smaller glitches right and then i will upload the first update..
