Genießs Heresy Europe is a 8-player game of aggressive diplomacy (unlike those with loads of resources) lasting for approximately 90 minutes of gametime. It is built with consideration towards gameplay and history simulation, with each player representing several factions of Europe during the Wars of Religion from the Council of Trent in 1545 until the Peace of Westphalia in 1648.

It uses the giant map GenieB's Europe, but instead of the standard RM setup, everyone starts in Imperial Age with units, buildings and defenses, and gameplay is enhanced through 894 triggers. All factions have their strengths and weaknesses and should make alliances to cover their weaknesses.
A required custom mod is made for it with minimal changes to game balance. Remember to use this dataset when hosting.
This workshop entry also contains a 4v4 version and a singleplayer FFA (some features disabled).

HOW TO WIN
- HEGEMONY (He): Win domination victory by keeping for 12 minutes two out of three tall flags placed out on the map (no allied victory). Test this mechanic here.
- RELIC CART (RC): Win by keeping for 32 minutes the one relic cart (no allied victory). It is located in Heidelberg as soon as the first player is eliminated.
- WONDER: As standard (allied victory possible).
- RELICS: As standard, but with three relics (allied victory possible).

ALLEGIANCE DIVIDE (AD)
Every 20 minutes an Allegiance Divide will trigger forcing players into two teams. Before each Allegiance Divide event occurs whoever controls Rome will spawn a pope in the upper corner who can nominate a player to become leader of one of the two Allegiances. Once the two leaders are set all other players can then choose who they wish to form their Allegiance with. To do this, the players spawn Electors (Kings) and move it to the Allegiance flag they wish to support. Each divide lasts 10 minutes and whichever Allegiance controls the flag in Würzburg thereafter will be declared the winner of the Divide. The leader of the winning Allegiance will gain a relic in his capital. Whichever player held the flag in Würzburg will gain up to two towers near the flag and all players not part of the winning Allegiance will take damage to stone structures.

OTHER NOTABLE
- Population Capacity: Max pop cap is 150 (170 for player 5).
- Storage Minimum: If you have less than 160 of WOOD or FOOD, it will slowly resupply itself until above 160 again.
- Storage Limit: If upvoted (in upper corner) there is a limit to resources stored at 1600.
- Trade rate: Trade income is doubled through mod.
- WARNING: DON’T touch the Submitter (Queen) in upper corner before read about Vassalage (see Triggers or ingame in Hints).

IN-GAME INFO
Most objects not seen in RM are selectable and renamed to link the geography to the game mechanics.
Important instructions will appear along with custom soundtracks.

HISTORY
The dark period of the middle ages has past and an era of discovery and enlightenment has commenced. But that certainly doesn't mean an era of peace. Religious crisis has led to new internal as well as international conflicts in Europe. That means that holy roman emperor Charles V's dream for a continent of peace will not become a reality.
The Catholics have by the Council of Trent 1545 defined several groups of christians as heretics. The muslims have taken the great christian city of Constantinople, renaming it Istanbul. This has made it apparent that they are a power not to be ignored. But for Russia this means they're now the capital of the orthodox church.
But even though religious concerns are important, the interests of the state must trump these. The year is 1545 and the people of Europe are eager to see who is to settle the peace of Westphalia 1648.
