Welcome to my first mod for Hearts of Iron 4, I've made it for experimenting with everything inside the game code and it's very early alpha.

Here's the pseudo-lore, it's set in a (rather) modern context at the end of the cold war (it didn't ended).
The major diverging event is the greatest home terrorism act saw by Humanity, about 23 nukes set off on American soil (ever saw "Jericho" tv series) throwing the country in a downward spiral doom.
A new government rose to compete with the greatly weakened USA, the ASA (Allied States of America) wich controlling everything west of the Mississipi with the exception of Texas.
The ASA accuse the USA of corruption and every possible wrong.
The USA accuse the leadership of the ASA of being behind the acts of terrorism, both countries just sparked the beginning of the Second American civil war which promise to be more horrible than the last.
The tragic events prompted a worldwide ban on nuclear weapons but with growing tensions and disputes taking places all around the world, how much time will it last?
During this time the Soviet Union is still around and trying to salvage its influence in Eastern Europe and hungers for its territories, in response the UE united under the Federal Union of Europa (FUE) and created a power bloc with unified economy and military (UK stayed out and kept with the Allies and it's few remaining commonwealth).
In the Middle-East, the newly created Middle Eastern Coalition, a loosely assembled alliance of unlikely allies against global terrorism who just stabilized the region and restablished order.
In Asia, the Popular Republic of China rised to its full might reclaiming Taiwan and beaten up expansionist Japan with her ally the Unified Popular Republic of Korea (united both Korea and which now occupies the western-half of Japan and all its islands in the Pacific).
In South Asia rose the faction of the Indian-Oceanian Entente, comprises of 3 members, the India-Indochina Republic, the Commonwealth of Oceania and the Philippines.
In the South Hemisphere, the Soviet Union profited from the USA absence on the international stage to spread the revolution to most of Africa. Throughout a series of coup and a major revolution rose the African Union, once developed the SU and the AU could easily corner the FUE and put an end to capitalism in Europe.

The cold war could got hot with the slighest of spark.

-The second American Civil War (same mechanics as Spanish Civil War)
-Major countries (USA/ASA, FUE)
-most planned minors (UPRK, Great Yugoslavia,India-Indochina Republic, Commonwealth of Oceania)
-most OOBs added and reworked for every countries
-A partial focus tree for the Federal Union of Europa

to be added (soon hopefully):
-full English localisation
-A working tree for the FUE and the Soviet Union, will be axed on their power struggle in Europe and beyond
-A working tree for the PRC and the UPRK, will be axed on their agenda of expansion in the pacific (and eventually their clash)
-Multi-ideology trees for most majors? (spread the revolution instead of democracy with USA/ASA?)
