Honest, this game was pretty great! I'm not usually one who plays horror games. I freeze up at the tension of even FNAF or Baldi. That said, despite my cowardice, I loved my time with the first chapter! The writing was well done, the characters are charming, and the atmosphere and ambience were so well done! That and I have mad respect for the main guy behind it.
That and the credits song... I love it to death! That and there were moments I actually wanted to hug Rambley.

That being said, I will offer some feedback and suggestions to make this game the best it can be.
1. Probably heard this advice before, but... Optimizations, optimizations, optimizations. I have a PC that can run DRG and Risk of Rain 2 pretty decent, but this gave it a little trouble. Not too bad, but frames were dropping when I was looking at the fountain on main street (near the theater). I'd wager you were likely to do it anyway, but I just wanted to mention it.
2. The arm is admittedly a bit wonky. Took a sec to get used to, but I do like the idea. Just needs a bit more fine tuning to get perfect.
3. That one little bit sticking out in that one drop during the chase scene. Gosh, getting caught on that made me panic for a sec.
4. There were parts where I did see where I shouldn't. Don't worry! With a couple quick fixes, it will be more immersive than ever.
5. Could use a couple more sound options. One general volume slider is perfectly fine. That said, a lot of games have multiple sliders for stuff like music, voices, and the like. That said, the current default audio balancing was actually well done, so this is mostly optional.

I greatly enjoyed my time playing this and I am excited to see more! As an aspiring game creator, massive respect for a developer making something this good especially since he's still new to this.
I hope that this takes off and we can get the full release!

Personally, not my type of game, but I will still recommend it. Its level design is good (just needs more memorable landmarks), animations are top notch (and lord knows we need cartoonish exaggeration like this nowadays in animation), and the designs are amazing and charming.

Of course, I will get this out of the way...
inb4 I get diehard fans wanting to say "skill issue", "you're just bad at the game", or "you're using the controller? you're playing it wrong!"

With that out of the way, this game stressed me out and the movement just doesn't click with me.
also...
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PEPPINO! STOP CLINGING ONTO THE WALL! I DON'T WANT TO CLIMB THAT!

Regardless, I'm happy to support the game as the dev seems really cool and we need more of this cartoonish style. DARE TO BE UGLY!

I intended to play for a couple hours

Suddenly it's 5am
This game is killing what's left of my sleep schedule and the sweet acoustic tunes are slowly driving me insane, but I'm loving it
God help me when I get Ideology and Royalty

Some people might say that this game lacks in content, is too easy, and has lackluster graphics. This is perfectly fair. One criticism I'd also like to add to the mix is that the audio isn't the best balanced.

That said... the charm makes this experience more than worth it. I love the fun dialogue, the funny terminal entries, and the well-crafted cutscenes. Frankly, I didn't mind the simplistic nature of the game. Worked well in '96 and it works well now. Honestly, I wish there was more, but given that the game was free, that's not much against the game.

I had more fun with this free game than I've had with some $60 AAA titles. If they decide to remake the sequels, I would not be opposed to it at all!

Admittedly, I came in wanting to like this game. A novel concept, an intricate item system, and many strategies to conquer your enemies. Sounds like a smash hit! Unfortunately, there were plenty of things that soured my short experience. For one, I tend to enjoy being a magic user in games, but dang magic is a massive commitment that ends up not being worth it. Secondly, I found that despite how deep the item system is, it feels like there are just so many things that feed into one playstyle without feeding into anything else.

The final point is something deeper. Typically, when I play a roguelike or roguelite, I want failure to feel like I was the reason the run failed. I want it to feel like a tough adventure rather than a slot machine. Thus, I don't want to be screwed over by bad RNG, but between the items and the encounters, it led to me encountering an enemy that was like "btw i have constant armor and also i keep getting thorns so now you have to kill yourself slowly and agonizingly lmao"
Is that fun? I didn't find it so. If I did something wrong, the game didn't convey anything to me.

Again, I could be wrong. Maybe I didn't take the time to learn how to use certain things effectively. Maybe I was just a victim of bad luck. Maybe I needed a few permanent upgrades to help certain builds out. I can at least say that I didn't enjoy what little I played.

Pros:
- Two arcade classics brought to Steam
- Multiple characters that each play very differently
- Amazing attention to detail when implementing D&D enemies (Needing fire to kill trolls and such)
- STICKS TO SNAKES
- Good replay value with multiple paths to take and many items to find

Cons:
- Still a quarter eater
- Clunky menu
- Capcom
- Capcom's willingness to add shady DRM to old games (It's gone for now as of the time of writing)
- Controls can take a while to get used to

Wish there was a middle option for recommending. Don't want to recommend this to the common folk, but for D&D fans or Beat 'Em Up fans, I'd say give it a shot.

Gosh, it feels unfair since I grew up with the Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, but I do wish to sing this game's praises. I could possibly say it made me the gamer I am today.

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger was one of the more forgotten of the 3d platformer collectathon heroes, but I've always loved this game. Where it lacks in crazy movement stuff, it makes up for in fun designs, fun characters, and fun details that make the world seem alive. Of course, this is just a port of the classic Xbox/PS2 title, but that's more than good enough for my taste.

I also wish to tell you about the soundtrack. GOSH! The soundtrack is glorious. Your ears are in for a nice time as you traverse the levels.

Maybe not everyone will look on this guy as fondly, but this is my favorite in the series and the cast have a special place in my heart.

Early Access Review
Some games are $60+ with microtransactions. This game has no microtransactions and manages to be better than half a dozen of those AAA games combined.

Minigames, activities, and player-made homes galore! There's something for every group of friends in this game.
You wanna chill out and have a relaxing time? Tower Unite has you covered.
High octane action? Yep!
Wanting to just meme around? Go right ahead!
Want to make something cool? Build to your heart's content!

I've had this game for years and I'm still happy. This $25 purchase has given more content than many $60 games combined.
It's a bit intense on the PC, but the devs are hard at work optimizing the game and adding more features. Once VR support comes to the game, VRChat will have to watch its back. Even without VR, this game is wonderful. The condo features are second to none. On top of powerful building tools, the condo tools have an I/O feature that can allow you to make your own little gadgets and minigames.

If that didn't sell you, then I'll tell you one more thing.
You can be ps1 Hagrid, a buff Winnie the Pooh, Big Smoke, or the like.
Please! Do yourself a favor and get this masterpiece.

Oh also, Capcom's been awful for years now with them cancelling anticipated games because "lmao XD", singlehandedly ruining Dead Rising because they couldn't bear the thought of doing something different, and more. Adding Enigma to old games is what's pushed me to vow to never buy a game from them again.

As I always say, Capcom hates you. Like a toxic relationship, it's best to leave 'em.
