My love for this game stretches back to 2003 when I got the game for Gamecube and it has been a favorite game since. This the fourth version of the game I own including the Gamecube version. Ty is a great 3D platformer and a classic one (to me at least). The boomerang mechanic is so unique and special although I will say while appreciate the many boomerang options, several are pointless to use most of the time considering the types of enemies you face. Once you get the Kaboomerang you are golden. Everything about this game is so fun. The sandbox worlds are bigger than you'd expect and full of secrets to explore. As collectathons go Ty is a great example to not too much but not too little. There are some issues, like the missions are too simple and the Opal collecting can be a royal pain. I spent more time looking for Opals then collecting the thunder eggs. I love the level design. The variety and the thought put into each one. At first they look daunting until you explore them enough and you begin understand the map. This is more back-tracking than I would like but that is the price you pay for this time of sandbox collectathon type game. You miss something and you're screwed. The game is never punishing. It's a good solid difficulty for a 3D platformer. You are here to explore, find stuff, and have fun. I always have fun playing Ty. The upgrades from the original version with the HD version are so nice. like the skins and improved graphics. Updated cut scenes would have been nice too but I understand budget restrictions. This is a very player friendly game even down to the credits which allow you to scroll up and down if you want to find your name under the Kickstarter donations which was very nice idea.
I love Ty the Tasmanian Tiger and I always will.

7 year old me loved this game and 21 year old me loves it even more truly. what a beautiful piece of nostalgia, still holds up even just being a collectathon.
